Gelato/Ice Cream Bar

FH would LOVE this option, as he doesn't like cake. I'm actually considering a ice cream "food truck". Never done/been to the bar type though. Sounds fun!

We're having an ice cream sundae bar, but it comes with the package we went with. I love ice cream, so I'm pumped. I probably wouldn't have sought it out, though, if it hadn't been included.

My FH loves ice cream and I was thinking of doing one as a surprise for him. I want ours to be a bit more upscale than something you see at a birthday party though.

If I attended a wedding with one I would be excited! Especially if it's served at the same time as cake. I love me some cake and ice cream together!

Thank you for the input! I love ice cream so when I saw that this was thing, I got super excited. We already have a dessert vendor booked who will be providing mini cheesecakes and cobblers. I am on the fence about this as it's pretty expensive and it might be too much sugar along with everything else we're serving, but I also think it's a fun idea that would make our wedding a bit different.

Hi Date Twin! I'm actually trying to do this also. FH is like no way if it's expensive but it would really showcase my personality. I found a few food trucks that do the ice cream sandwiches and I was like nope. One sundae bar tried charging me $1K! What?! I told the venue and they are seeing what they can do...can't wait to see how yours turns out!!

There's one that I want to bring in that is an Italian ice company that I love but we're waiting to see how the catering all turns out.

@Bianca YES! The quote I got was around $1k too. My fiance hasn't responded to the idea yet, i'm assuming this is because he's thinking of all the different ways he could kill me in.

I went to a wedding with an ice cream bar. It was probably the only good thing about that wedding. Everything else was horrible. Especially the heat so the ice cream helped a little. See if you can hire an ice cream truck. That would be so cool!

We're having a gelato and dessert bar- our quote was about $5/person, so not too much more than cake and we love gelato!

My fiancé and I are obsessed with the idea of having a gelato and sorbet cart for our wedding... We are running into the same issue of it being cost prohibitive. Has any one found tricks to making it more budget friendly? Like serving out of cups only and no cones? Maybe less flavors? I would love to hear everyones ideas!
