I'm trying very hard to get the Star Trek The Next Generation flute song from "The Inner Mind" into my ceremony. Still working on getting the FH on board.

Anybody do or want Geeky themed invitations?

Look what I found online yesterday:

    They’ve earned enough EXP.

The princess isn’t in another castle.

He is her One. She is his Constant.

Their power level, it’s OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!1!

ahem… So… Not long from now, in a venue relatively close by,

Mina and Morgan will be getting married! Woot!

    Friday, November 6, at 1:30pm

    **Venue Info**

Tacos, music, and disc golf to follow!

    Got it memorized?

    Enclosure:

    Formal wear? Inconceivable!

Seriously, we’re geeks, people. Okay… so for our wedding we might look a bit more spiffy than usual, but we encourage all our guests to dress in whatever they feel is comfortable. Bright colors FTW! Oh, but we’re not responsible for what happens if you decide to wear a red shirt.

All Your Gifts Are Belong to Us

We already have a hatch-load of stuff. However, if you’re feeling particularly generous we’re registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Honeyfund, to save for an Adventure in a far off land! Gil, Munny, or Rupees are also acceptable.

We Can Haz Guest List Nao?

If you’re planning to celebrate with us, that would be awesomesauce! Let us know soon, though, mmmmkay? You can RVSP by phone at ###, via teh Interwebs, or by owl post. By the way, those not in attendance may be subject to burnination.

We’re in UR mail, blowin’ UR mind

WTF, right? Wondering what we’re talking about? Don’t panic. If you need some help decoding this L337 invitation, check out our site at

We are using music from The Lord of the Rings soundtrack for our processional and recessional. As for the reception entrance, we are walking in to the Indiana Jones theme.

The only slightly geeky thing (for me anyway) is that our first dance will be to The Sunday's version of Wild Horses. Which is what Buffy & Angel danced to at Prom. I have considered using "Storybook Story" for the Bridesmaids Processional, but nothing is finalized on that yet. The only ceremony music I know for 100% is that I am walking down the aisle to VSQ's version of "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" because that was my parent's wedding song.

I think I love you guys, I have been thinking about my entrance music for a few weeks now, and really wanted something different, and representative of FH geeky side, but now I am torn between the two @sharon&Brad posted or music from the hobbit.

Our big exit song will be the theme song from Firefly- "The Ballad of Serenity". We are big Browncoats/ Firefly nerds. Our bridal party entrance song is the theme to Austin Powers. We will have a few other geeky touches, but I think that's it for music.

We used a lot of this. But, to keep it a little more formal, we incorporated versions by Vitamin String Quartet - they are a string quartet who covers modern songs, so we had all ,kinds of music, but sounded like nice string quartet songs...

We danced to the Weezer/Haley Willliams cover of The Rainbow Connection (muppet movie theme)

Other geeky things we did - we collect Disney Vinylmations (disney vinyl toys in the shape of mickey mouse but painted to look like different things) - and we bought two large blank white ones to use as our guestbooks.

We also collect pop vinyls (a different vinyl toy), and are comic book nerds, and one of the early things we did together was binge watch Teen Titans (a cartoon about Robin and other teen superheros that he loved as a kid that I had never seen) - we used a Robin and Beast Boy (now my favorite comic book character thanks to his exposing me to him) pop vinyls as our cake toppers.

For our photo booth, instead of regular props, I bought prop designs off etsy that you could print on cardstock and paste to sticks - of some of our favorite geeky things -

Like Harry Potter wands, hats and scarfs, Dr. Who ssonic Screwdrivers and scarves and hats, and comic book sayings like pow, etc..

We were planning on having WWE entrance music but decided not to. BP was going to come out to DX and we were going to come out to Ric Flair.

We're tossing around the idea of "Rains of Castamere" which I said I'd only do if we can have Nerf bows and arrows under the table to whip out when people start to catch on.

Pre-ceremony will be orchestral classic rock. Our favorite is "Bohemian Rhapsody." I'm walking to an orchestral of "Once Upon a Dream" since I'm a Disney nut and "Sleeping Beauty" is his favorite Disney movie. Recessional will be "Married Life" from "Up."

The one we came up with the other night is using the music from "Clue" for the bridal party entrance. I'd REALLY love to get creative and come up with a good script to introduce everyone in a way that follows the rhythm of the reveal in the movie. There's also the matter of an emcee who can pull off the Tim Curry cadence.

I walked in to the Throne Room song from Star Wars Episode IV.

You guys have given me the idea to play "Rains of Castamere" on the first day of school when my students walk in to see who watches it.

Our processional was "The Emperial March" from "Return of the Jedi". My brother had the theme music from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as his recessional, which I thought was terrific!

FH is too serious but my venue is called RIVENDELL (family story). I was joking that the GMs should wear hobbit costumes and that our officiant should look like Elrond.

I created an account just to say thank you. I've been torn on what geeky song to use. My mind was going through HP, Dr. who, LOTR. Can't believe my mind (or his, he's an even bigger can) never went to Firefly. We're huge fans, our animals are even named Kaylee & Inara, and it never crossed my mind to look for music from firefly.
