So my fiancee isn't a fan of the garter toss but im kinda on the fence. Im curious to know if you did the tradition, had an alternative, or left it out completely?

We are doing the bouquet not the garter! I think the garter toss is super super awkward!

Skipping them both because i didn't like being forced to participate in these when i was single. not every single person is dying to be the next to get married.

We are not doing either. I always felt embarrassed when i was single and had to join in on the bouquet toss, I also feel that the garter toss can easily become very awkward. No one will miss them.

Neither because we are "olds" (32 and 37) and our friends are either married or pissed at their long-term partner who hasn't proposed yet. On top of that, I want to dance as much as possible so I am planning minimal interruptions.

We're doing neither. At the last wedding I went to with my partner, we were not yet engaged and in the middle of some pretty painful conversations about the timeline for our marriage and engagement. Given those sensitivities, I felt uncomfortable participating in the bride's bouquet toss and found myself needing to firmly explain I wasn't interested. I don't know how my friends and family feel about the concept or how they value marriage in their relationships, so we're skipping it.

We are only doing bouquet toss. I dont feel comfterable having the garter toss when my entire family watching, not appropriate. It all depends on you! its your wedding day!

At first I did not want to do it but ended up doing both which was really fun. Our guests were laughing and clapping the whole time. I'm glad we ended up doing both.

    All the nope.

Like Dreamer, I've seen a bouquet fall to the floor with a thump...as women actively dodged it.

And the garter toss...ugh. I've only seen young boys catch them and then have to replace them on the bride. The ew factor was just INCREDIBLY high.

I guess if your circle embraces these traditions -- and it sounds like some do -- then sure.

But for us? Nope, nope, and nope again.

We didn't do the garter toss, but did do the bouquet toss. We had ALL the ladies come up though, because the bouquet is not a sign "you're the next to get married" its a sign of luck. All the ladies that came up were very excited to participate and my married and oh so cutely pregnant BM was right there in the front looking like she was gonna tackle someone for that bouquet haha. (she didn't thankfully)
