Fuzzy Slippers - Bridemaids gift idea

Erika, on March 18, 2021 at 5:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17
Has anyone worn (while moving around) or bought fuzzy slippers as part of their bridemaids gifts? My girls suggested a fuzzy slipper or slide to change into after wearing heels and I thought it was a great idea but nervous about sweating while dancing. I may be overthinking it but it is a May 29th wedding amd it may be in the 90s, see picture for example.Fuzzy Slippers - Bridemaids gift idea 1

These are difficult to dance in. The idea is good in theory though. However most slippers have rubber gripping on the bottom to restrict movement and makes dancing difficult.

I can't imagine wearing these in 90 degree weather

I think they’d be hot. What about regular slide sandals (adidas style)?

Yah, I thought of that too but they mentioned heel support so they aren't sliding around and the plastic foam may be uncomfortable to awest in too. Haha dilemma dilemma

https://www.cinderollies.com/bulk-discount-wedding-favors/ is an option but dresses will drag and be tripped on if you switch from heels to flats. However if you are having short dresses in the heat you should be fine.

I have slippers like this and they make my feet so hot (in my house doing regular things,) that I had to get different slippers for the summer and these are now my winter slippers.

I think these will be too hot for a summer wedding, but could still be a good gift for them that they could use later!

I’d try to find something more like sandals than slippers. While I love wearing fuzzy slippers around the house, they can be difficult to move in a lot because there is very little structure to them and they are meant to fit more loosely.

As others have suggested, get some sandals. Wearing slippers in the heat wouldn’t be good.

    Going against the grain here.

My Future SIL got similar sisters for her girls on her wedding day. They all wore them during the reception, and I didn't hear any complaints, they got married on a 95 degree day and it was HOT but they all seemed to be just fine dancing away in fuzzy slipper sandals!

Even if they are unable to wear them during the reception/they're feet get too hot, these are still slippers that they would wear around their house!

I'm getting my girls Silky toes!!! You can get them on Amazon for about $14. I'm getting married in July and I was going to do flip flops but I don't want them slipping all over. These silky toes seem to have some grip!

I got my girls slippers! I got married on May 4 and it was pretty hot. I’m not sure if anyone wore them to the reception, but I changed out of my heels and into fuzzy slides I had bought myself. So worth it to be comfy and I didn’t trip over my dress at all.

So I say go for it!

If people want a change, let them choose what it is. I have been given flip flops, and slippers, and if not ballet slippers/ shoes, I have never worn them. I bring my own, regardless. And so do most people as BM. Whichever you buy, maybe 1 pr two will wear it, and the others ignore you. I would quit a wedding before I would wear a fuzzy slipper for 10 minutes or a picture. Last wore one when I was 6. They are hot, drag, and make a funny shushing sound. I don't pay $250 a dress to swap to something ridiculous.

This I would wear. Of course, I have about 10. But why not let your ladies choose? ( this does not count as a thank you gift, chosen to wear at the wedding.) This is one more thing chosen to your taste, not theirs. The dress was enough. No robes, shirts, funny t shirt for other occasions needed. Most women like choosing their own clothing. it is not up to the bride to choose for more than the dress for the ceremony. At least a nice ballet slipper is in keeping with the formality of the dress.

For a May wedding it would be pretty warm wearing those while dancing. You could always get them to be part of their bridesmaid gift and wear them while getting ready! If you want to do shoes that are comfortable to dance in, those flats pp mentioned are good, or you could do some cheap flip flops from Old Navy! They always go on sale for crazy cheap every year, plus it's not going to break the bank for one night of dancing!
