Fun ways to “end” the reception?

Colleen , on June 3, 2019 at 9:11 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
Hi everyone. Whats a fun way to have a clear end to the reception? I feel silly doing a “grand exit” because we’re gonna see everyone 10 minutes later when we invite everyone to come party at the neatest bar.
The last dance will cue everyone that’s it’s wrapping up. But then I’m unsure on how to be like OK WE HAVE TO LEAVE NOW haha.
Maybe a grand exit is just the easiest way to do this? If so, what are some ideas that are mess free?

You could play Closing Time by Semisonic.

Our DJ just announced that it was the last song before he played it, he kind of wrapped everything up for us

I agree with Mcskipper - if you have a DJ let him/her take care of it for you!

Us too! It's a running joke with our group of friends where "Closing Time" marks the end of a party.

We're playing "Closing Time" as the last song. Afterwards our DJ will make an announcement that there's an open invite to join us for bar hopping downtown.

Lol love it. Probably the easiest way to tell people to leave without actually saying it haha

Play "closing time" and/or have the DJ announce last song. The grand exit is more or less for pictures. We plan to do a sparkler exit for pictures, but I doubt we will actually leave right afterwards, lol. If you don't like sparklers, I've seen people use glow sticks.
