Fun Places to Pop the Question?

What are the most romantic, wild, weird or wonderful places you've heard of people popping the question? What about your proposal? Mine was a surprise destination! I had no idea. None. My hubby is quite the trickster and planned spontaneous trips before. He wanted a day trip for his b-day. Great....

Mine was a surprise destination! I had no idea. None. My hubby is quite the trickster and planned spontaneous trips before. He wanted a day trip for his b-day. Great. Then he wanted to spend the night (we hadn't had a vaca in a year). Yay. The day-of he told me to take out liquids, we were getting on a plane. Wait, what? We deplaned, drove a car to... Scottsdale, AZ. WOW. When the gorgeous Omni upgraded us to a freakin' villa I thought it was his b-day karma!!! After dinner there he convinced me to walk over to a fireplace to sit and relax (I was complaining my shoes hurt--lol). He proposed by the fireplace. Stunned, I said "YES!"

I once read a story of a proposal while skydiving...it was interesting lol.

my proposal was at my favorite place in the world Disney world. I was not expecting it at all because My FH chose a park that not many people propose in at Disney world. While I always thought my ideal proposal would be in front of the castle I am SO glad he did not do that!! Our story is so unique and I feel like the unique story makes it so much better. Anyways, because of that the entire park knew we were getting engaged that night! Word gets around I guess... They were so excited for us and the opportunity to make it magical. He planned with the park (I was shopping, he “had to go to the bathroom”) for us to get engaged during the Hollywood studios pre firework show Disney movie magic. We had gone to a dessert party and they chose us to lead everyone to the veiwing area so we would have a prime location with few people. He watched it before we went and chose the perfect time to propose during my two favorite movie scenes. (Beauty and the beast and Mary poppins) The park went all out for us! They let him have a personal photo pass photographer to capture the dark photos, gave us extra fast passes for our trip and we were given gifts from the cast members themselves. As were were walking out we kept getting congratulations from all the cast memebers who had seen the photos. It was magical.

My FH originally wanted to propose on my birthday at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Instead he chose our local waterfront the night before our trip to California. Yes, that would've made for a better story but we would've had to fly across the country to relive that moment. But we visit this particular waterfront often and can even bring our kids there one day. Smiley heart

He proposed to me on 6/30/18. That was the best surprise I have had! He planned a date night getaway, which was a surprise to me,(but he plans them often so I just thought he wanted to get away). We ended up in Louisville Ky. checking into The Galt House. Got to the room and had enough time to freshen up and change into our dinner attire. Walk down towards the river boats where we were met by a lady saying we had “won tickets” to take a private tour of the Mary M Miller boat. So she’s talking and I’m listening, going floor by floor. We walk up to where the captain quarters is and she was like, the captain was suppose to be up here, but evidently he forgot that we started this new private tour. So she tells us to just sit tight and she’s gonna go find him. Well as I’m sitting there looking around Levell gets down on one knee and proposes. I was so in shock!! Of course I cried like a baby! He’s the absolute best!

It was August 2018. It was my first time at Disney World. I went with his family. The first night we went to Magic Kingdom. We walked around, shopped, went on some rides. Then later on after the fireworks we finally got to go to The wishing well by Cinderella's Castle. His family wanted me to take pictures of them then his mom told me to get over there and take a picture with him. He got down on one knee and proposed. It was the best day of my life. I never thought my engagement would be there!

Sidenote: A cast member was supposed to catch this moment and never showed up. Luckily his mom took pictures and brother and sister caught it on their phones.

I love that he did it as part of an annual vaca so you didn't suspect it. lol, he must have been dying listening to you sing along with Ed Sheeran when he knew what he had planned!!! My hubby did a great job too, wasn't nervous or acting weird so I had no idea.

What?! I think this is very romantic, and funny as heck. He also sounds like a trickster by teasing you for a few days before the real proposal. How great that it was a family trip but you two had some alone time for the proposal.

lol. "You're dumb. Get up." cracks me up. So much. I didn't want my original post to be too long but because my hubby pulls tricks, when he proposed with a temp ring, my very first words were "Wait, is this for reals????" because I didn't want to look dumb if it was just a fun ring and he was joking around.

    Smiley xd

He said the main reason he was doing so many proposal jokes/talk was because he was so nervous to do. He had to calm himself down by almost spilling the beans for five days. 😂

How does one even propose while skydiving???

OMG, I love all things Disney but LOVE how your sweetie proposed in such a unique way and place in the park. How did he and the Disney staff even arrange all that???? So many things had to line up and involved so many people. That's wonderful you had a personal photo pass photographer capture the moment. Wow. Just wow.

It is pretty special you can revisit your proposal spot because it's so close. Our local wedding reception was at our first vacation area, and we still love to take even a day trip there once a year. It's really special to revisit an engagement, wedding or honeymoon spot again--so many romantic feelings. Smiley heart Your future kids will enjoy it too.

Aw, thank you! I never really imagined my engagement story so I didn't have any expectations around it. The way he kept changing our itinerary gave me a clue that we'd go someplace special, but he was smart to make it his b-day weekend so I'd have no idea what was really coming--I was just excited for a getaway weekend (ok, him whisking me away on a plane for a surprise trip may have crossed my mind as an epic gesture when I've seen romance movies but I didn't think that happened in real life--lol).

I got proposed to at home. I loved it. I think it's because when I think of how prince Harry proposed to Meghan markle it made me think of mine that way. Like as if it feels very natural and at home and didn't need to be some big event

Tee hee. That's similar to mine. He tricked you into thinking it was a weekend getaway. Glad you were open to going on the private tour or his plans would have been wrecked--lol. Smiley xd Very creative of your fiance. Smiley heart I hope you'll go back sometime and take the real tour.

How cool that it was your first time to Disney World! A proposal by the "Wishing Well" seems fairytale perfect. Happy his family could capture the moment.

    Smiley heart
