Friends/vendors

I have a few friends who will be doing things for our wedding (making our cake, officiating, flowers) and don't want any payment. How can I politely pay them? Would a nice gift be appropriate?

I'm in the same boat, my photographer and DJ are friends. I plan to give them a gift card to a restaurant.

Our photographer doesn't want anything but a bottle of her favorite spirit. I'm planning on buying her a couple. lol We might attach a gift cards as well.

For me I have worked wedding for friends, some insisted on paying me, some I did as a wedding gift. If anyone had bought me a gift card or a nice bottle of wine I would have been thrilled.

Thank you for posting this! My friend is doing my hair and makeup and I have no clue how to pay her. She doesn't want payment. I think I am going to give her a gift card to a restaurant or spa and then offer to babysit her kids (4 under the age 8) so she can use it.

We had a friend for our officiant and our DJ. We paid all expenses for both of them for our destination wedding and we gave them each a beautiful hand written thank you card with a personal gift. They didn’t want anything but to be a part of our special day.

One of my aunties is our photographer, kept declining money so I'm definitely going to get her a very thoughtful gift. Probably a $200 dollar gift card to her fave restaurant or something. And maybe a a bottle of rum as well. My godfather has graciously said he will be our DJ, so I'll definitely get him something too, might be harder for him to accept any gift though.Smiley smile

Our DJ is FHs boss and refuses payment from us. That's not going to stop me from slipping his wife a restaurant gift card as thank you though lol

We are not paying our officiant as we have known him for years however he asked specifically for a dvd set of an old show he liked lol. Maybe ask if there’s anything that they have been wanting or just get them a gift.
