We actually considered having a Friday wedding because most places were cheaper on Friedan and Sunday's but thankfully our venue has one price no matter the day.

Mines on a Friday---it depends on whether or not you're ok w some ppl missing the ceremony. You can't take it personally, sometimes it's just not easy for ppl to take off. If you're ok w it, then def go for it! Dunno about your venue, but for us it was also like 7k cheaper so def worth it

We are having our wedding on a Friday as well! We decided on that because our venue was above our budget if we had it on a Saturday night. So far we haven't received any complaints and our VIPs are taking that day off from work. We knew of the date more than a year in advance so our closest friends and family had a good amount of time to request time off from work. I guess we will see how the actual day goes but I'm keeping my fingers crossed all goes well!

Friday wedding here! I actually wanted to have it on a Friday. The wedding party would have likely taken Friday off anyways, it's cheaper, my guests still have their whole weekend to other things/recover. I'm sure we'll have some declines because it's a Friday but these will probably be people who wouldn't want to come anyways.

Works great and saves you money. Just make sure to start the ceremony later!

We were pretty adamant about not having it on a Friday, but now I'm realizing that we totally could have pulled it off. 85% of our guests are OOT and will be making it a long weekend or a family vacation. Most people are flying in at least the Wednesday before because flights are way cheaper. Almost all of the people within driving distance are either retired or have flexible work schedules, so Friday would have been a non-issue. So bottom line- know your crowd and go with the majority.

We're having a Friday wedding!! Most family members have been supportive. We're just giving family and friends a little extra notice because we know this is technically a weeknight. Also we saved almost $1000 bucks by changing from a Saturday wedding to a Friday evening wedding Smiley winking Good luck with all of your wedding planning!

My only big beef I have with Friday is in the tri-state area... Traffic in Friday. It's a real thing. So keep that in mind.

We are having a Friday evening wedding. Most of our guests are OOT, for those that are local, I figure if it is important to attend they will make it happen.

Everyone has good points, thanks so much. Im doing ceremony and reception at the same place so I think it will work out, nobody will have to drive from one place to the other and be in traffic. Cool to see so many other Friday weddings!

I like Friday weddings, you have the rest of the weekend to do what you'd like.

The things I didn't like about being in a Friday wedding that was 3 hours away... Having to take off two days of work to attend the rehearsal dinner on Thursday, Paying for two nights at the Inn on top of other expenses. This wedding had a cash bar too but we don't need to go there.

Overall I think Friday night weddings are getting more common and if you can save money, go for it

Friday wedding here! Definitely cheaper for us and we are starting at 5:30. While we are prepared for a higher decline rate, we sent STDs early and most people seem to be okay with it. In the beginning I was nervous too and asked some friends that recently got married their thoughts, and two of them actually got married on Fridays and I didn't even remember! I think you're just fine

What is the etiquette for a Friday at 2:30pm wedding- the reception is at 6pm. I knew the wedding was on a Friday for a while, but we just got the invitation, and the ceremony is at 2:30 in the afternoon! I have 0 days left to take off for work and I feel like its kinda presumptuous of the couple to ask people to take an entire day off from work for their wedding. If the ceremony was at 4 or later, I could have justified a half day off, but with travel and changing and everything, I can't do that at 2:30pm. I am a big proponent of the point of a wedding is to attend the ceremony- I feel weird just showing up to the reception part. Its my husband's family member and I said I would follow what he wants to do, but i'm just curious, what do you think?
