Friday vs Sunday??

Hey guys! So me and my FH were set on a date but the venue we love doesn’t have it, thinking of moving to a Friday or Sunday. What is everyone’s opinions on those days? Which would be better to have a wedding on? If you had to go to one, what day would you prefer? TIA!!

Thanks so much for the advice 😊 i think we are leaning towards Friday and I like the idea of sending out save the dates earlier!

Then I would do Friday in that case! I’ve just been to a few Friday weddings where we have to take a several hour plane ride which means we have to take two days off of work!

We’re having a Friday wedding because I don’t want our guests to leave early because they have to go to work the next day and I want them to have the rest of the weekend to enjoy themselves. I would also like to spend time and see off our family who’s traveling to our wedding on Saturday/Sunday.

I would do a cute Sunday brunch wedding. That’s what I originally wanted and had thought of so many fun ideas.

My wedding is on Friday! My original venue was on Saturday, then it burned down in June so I had to make a decision fast about a new venue just 6 months before the wedding, which left Sundays or Fridays. A Friday is more of a party vibe. My ceremony is at 4, and cocktail hour begins at 6. So very worst case people can still work a full day and then come at 6:30 or even 7 for our wedding! Most of our guests are local, and my family on the east coast is small and would take an extended weekend regardless. I sent out new save the dates about 5, 5 and a half months before the wedding so people could plan accordingly. And that way everyone has the rest of the weekend to relax if they work a normal M-F job!

I have been to a Friday wedding and a Sunday wedding and I 100% preferred the Sunday, just in my opinion. The Friday wedding was so stressful to get to because I couldn't get the entire day off work. I was in such a rush I had to change in the car and I forgot their gift (so I had to mail it). A lot of my friends have been going to Friday wedding this summer and they all have said the same thing. The Sunday wedding was the complete opposite. Everyone just took Monday off and if they couldn't get work off they just left an hour early (no one really had to) and it was a blast. If I could have gotten work off on the Friday I would have enjoyed it much more so it really just depends i think. Either way it is your day so just do whatever would make you happiest!!

Everyone from FH side has to travel from another state so we picked Sunday.

I'd rather attend a late Friday ceremony. Personally, I like my chill Sundays to attend church service and restore for the week ahead!

I to struggled with this question, but we decided to have ours on a Sunday. I started to think about what I would do, and by the time Friday comes around I am beat from the week. I feel people will not take off work early or the day just to attend a wedding ceremony for a Friday. (and I don't want hardly no-one in attendance for ceremony) So with that said....Sunday seem more suitable because it also happens to be a holiday weekend for us.
