Hey everybody! I recently got engaged and my fiancé and I plan on getting married at City Hall in San Francisco. Unfortunately, City Hall is only open Monday through Friday so it has to be a weekday wedding. We only plan on having about 18-20 people present for the ceremony and 100-120 people for the reception. What are everyone's thoughts on a Friday reception? Otherwise, I'd have to get married on Friday, take the 18-20 guests out to dinner then host the reception on Saturday. Thoughts? Personal experience?

Our daughters wedding will be on a Friday in Nov. 2018. Everything is for sure less $$ on a Friday. Awesome ! You guests also have a two days to recover if needed.

I have a friday wedding. Mainly bc its thousands of dollars cheaper. Additionally, it gives some of your guest an extended weekend and something to look forward to. It also allows for you and FH to rest Sat/Sun and go on the honeymoon Sun/Mon. With ample notice most ppl. Will be able to either get the day off or leave work early. Guest like the idea of recovering Sat/Sun from the partying. I do suggest a later ceremony. Mine begins at 6:30pm.

Friday wedding here, both ceremony and reception. I vote no problem to do both on Friday.

I might be the UO here, but my cousin did a Friday wedding at 6 o'clock at night (which is fine) but he chose to do it 4 hours away from where all of our family lived (we all live within 20 minutes of each other) and didn't reserve a hotel block for anyone. It was obnoxious to say that least. Just a hectic day and that's the only reason I am dead set on a Saturday wedding. Other than that, if you can properly set it up, do it!

We are getting married in a courthouse on a Monday because we want our true anniversary to be on a certain date. Then we are doing a "mock ceremony" and reception on a Friday. Not only does it save money, but we have had NO problems booking the vendors we want. The ceremony will start at 6 with reception right after... and we are doing this knowing some people wont make it to ceremony due to work, etc. I agree with a previous poster - some people might want to attend both - especially out of towners....

Getting married on a Friday here! Many of my guests are actually happy because they still get to have their weekend to do whatever they want! Friday weddings are totally fine
