if Saturday is already booked or just too darn expensive, would Friday or Sunday be better? And why?

We are doing friday- our venue we loved was already booked and had to make the same choice! Our guests will have to leave work early friday- but our reception goes to 10 so there will be plenty of time. And we have the whole weekend ahead of us afterwards- and so do our out of town guests. I think both are totally fine! my other dream would be do have an early brunch wedding and have all brunch food and sunday would be perfect for that!

We did our party on a Sunday. Started at 5:00, over by 900. It was positively lovey. If you want the party all night atmosphere maybe pick Friday. Or pay the premium for Saturday.

I'm personally getting married on Sunday. However, I've been to both a Friday and Sunday wedding and had a blast at both. Additionally, both had a great turnout. Ultimately you'll be providing everyone with ample time so if they take off or not is on them.

Our wedding was from 3 to 9 pm on a Sunday. It worked out perfectly. Those who traveled from out of town stayed until Monday morning. As most of our guests were local, getting to work on Monday morning wasn't an issue. Our families picked out those times on purpose with our guests' work schedules in mind.

Definitely Friday! Still allows your guests to have a full weekend, Sunday weddings if not on a holiday weekend, guests tend to bail early, because of work or kids. If not Saturday, Friday all the way.

I would go for the early sunday wedding. Friday everyone has to request off or is tired from working all day followed by getting ready, traveling, ceremony, then finally reception.

Depending on your time, I'd say Friday so people can come after work/take the day off and are able to stay late. Sunday even though it's a weekend if the wedding runs til later in the night people may leave early. That happened at a wedding I went to in January. The cake hadn't even been cut and people started to leave!

I vote Friday! Although I may be a little biased since we’re having a Friday wedding lol but I was adamant about not wanting a Sunday wedding because I personally just can’t have fun when I have to work the next day and FH agreed. Most people look forward to Fridays to celebrate and bring in the weekend. I don’t foresee any problems with people on our guest list attending, especially since our ceremony doesn’t start until 5:30pm. Plus it works in my favor because it’s the perfect reason for not being able to invite every coworker on my team! Haha

I would choose Friday. If you give enough time people can ask for the day off. If they can't you can have a evening reception so they can stop by. Friday allows you to enjoy our "wedding weekend" before you head out to your honeymood or staycation.

Sunday because people would not have to take off and the rehearsal will then be on a Saturday. If needed, they can call out on Monday at their own discretion.

I prefer Friday. I don't really like doing things on Sunday though lol. That is my day to relax and catch up on things before the week starts. Friday weddings make it feel like I still get my whole weekend.

Our wedding is on a Sunday. We are having a destination wedding the weekend after Thanksgiving and wanted to give guests time to travel after Thanksgiving. It will be 4pm-1am with open bar for 9 hours. We are providing transportation for all wedding guests. Some are leaving Monday but most are flying out Tuesday.

Sunday because you can do an earlier ceremony and have a really nice & cute brunch reception. Then guests’ entire day is not taken up with the wedding and they have enough time to go home, rest and go to work the next day (That was my original plan and part of me still wants to do it. But now we’re doing a DW and the venue we selected doesn’t have a brunch vibe).

Friday becomes too much of a hassle, causing guests to either take a day off or get off early. Then rush to change clothes and travel to the ceremony. Also, most people are tired after their work week (at least I am) and attending a wedding on Friday night is the last thing I want to do.

Depending on the time of the year and location they can be better.

For instance, tons of people that fly in for a wedding rarely get to enjoy the city they are traveling to because a Saturday wedding takes up an entire day. For this reason a Friday wedding allows them more time.

Sunday weddings for similar reasons but also because brunch theme and time is less expensive and on trend.

Also keep in mind that most people are happy to attend no matter the day. Choose the one you can afford and is available.
