That is about 40% of your wedding budget but, it covers food and venue. Does it cover the bar? It depends on what you plan to have at your wedding. Put a list together of exactly what you want at your wedding, and what you include in the budget. Then decide what you can keep and what you need to cut back on.

Depending on how big you wedding is going to be. Does your venue come with extras? or is it just the venue?

I freaked out about my dress but I found one that was way under my budget that I just loved!!

1st calm down. We all freak out over our wedding cost. You are find. For most of us our venue and food take up half our budget. Its a normal thing. WW have a budget tool use it and go line by line and decide what you must have and what you can do with out. You are over a year away so you have lots of time to wait for deals to come around and buy things then.

After the venue and food is paid for, you still have 8k left. My entire wedding was less than 6k. You have plenty of money.

You'll be fine. You have plenty left for everything else. Plus, you have a lot of time to save still; over a year. No worries you can do it

My venue is about 55-60% of the overall cost. It was important to us since that's the whole setting. What does your venue cost include? Ours is ceremony, open bar, cocktail apps, buffet dinner, dj, invitations. My dress was a huge splurge, but my parents paid for it so it didn't affect our budget (or i would have been wearing something much different)! You still have a lot of time until you wedding. Do NOT worry! Our budget has gone up and down many times over the past few months as we have booked things and either paid more or got a much better rate.

Don't freak out! Our venue and food is nearly 75% of our budget! It will all come together in the end, having more than half of your money left is a great position to be in

You'll be fine; block in the other big things, investigate prices, and then see if you have to trim the guest list.

Theknot has an EXCELLENT budget feature. i do NOT know what i would have done without it. seriously. you put in your total budget and it divides it into all the categories based on what past brides have spent. it was a life saver. i think your budget can be doable. i think i spent a third of my budget on food and venue.

We paid 5,500 for our venue and food. With my dress flowers photography dj for ceremony and reception Photobooth invitations and extra decor Ive spent 15000. My dress was 3000. That was a budget buster. Wait for sales for invitations, mine were 46% off. My dj Photobooth was 600 off 300 off each when booked together.

Please look at every item you could buy for your wedding and ask yourself "Will this make me more married? Is this important to me?" There is so much nonsense around weddings that is completely unnecessary-- programs, STDs, welcome bags, runners, chargers, chair decorations-- even flowers and music and a fancy dress (let alone two) will not make you more married. So you have a venue and several thousand left. Be mindful of how you spend it and remember almost no one, except perhaps Kate Middleton, can afford every single thing you can possibly add to a wedding. As long as you're married at the end, it's a good wedding.
