My boobs are still very sore. It has been a week since I took the other 3 tests, that showed 2 strong red bars. Lately I have been feeling well, no more cramps, just mild discomfort on my right side, but no nausea. So I had an extra pregnancy test and now the 2nd bar took longer to appear. I can...

Lately I have been feeling well, no more cramps, just mild discomfort on my right side, but no nausea. So I had an extra pregnancy test and now the 2nd bar took longer to appear. I can still see it but its not as bold as the other 3 i took last week. I am worried. I am scheduling a doctors appointment now. What's going on? I havent been spotting at all.

Planned Parenthood is not "free health care".

Especially if you have insurance and little to no copay. I am sending positive thoughts your way!!! =]

Actually from my experience with planned parenthood, it isn't free. It costs less than going to a gyno if you don't have insurance, but it's not free. It costs money to run it and they have limited resources. In my opinion it's not right for someone with the resources to be able to go else where to take advantage of it and possibly prevent access for someone who needs it more.

PP fees are on a sliding scale based on your level on income. It is not "free" but can offer be cheaper than paying out of pocket to see a doctor if you have no insurance.

Applauding Cabell, Batman and Justine for their comments on PP. It is NOT free. They are those to educate people as well as assist those who are truly in need of their services.

If you have insurance, that is where you should go.

A test that showed positive, but now does not, could be accurate at well. There are women who get pregnant, but the egg does not properly attach. An early test may indicate pregnancy, but, without the woman even knowing that she was pregnant, it can be lost. Not to be a downer, but it happened to me several years ago.

@ Mrs. Cupcake - maybe you should refrain from giving advice in regards to topics of which you have minimal knowledge...

No one is on your back, Cupcake. It just isn't very smart to give advice when you don't know what you are talking about. It isn't just you, plenty of people do it. Don't get so defensive.

Honestly, I've defended you when other people have claimed that you were our famous psycho troll due to similarities with your former username.

However, I'm going to say what I think and there are times where I just can't agree with the advice that you give.

I would check out planned parenthood, its just as good as the dr. you will get piece of mind and then the stress will go away... I freak out all the time and get stressed, also when I was looking up dr.s they didnt have any availability in my area for 3 weeks after I called so that would push you over the 30 day mark. Hope that helps!

@ Jen L. last time I checked ER doctors got the same types of medical degree as all other doctors. And an emergency room is the best place for someone who needs immediate or intermediate care. Even if it is for pregnancy related symptoms. That is what they are there for. Sorry if this hurts your feelings, but that is jut BAD ADVICE and anyone that would avoid an ER in an emergency is an idiot.

That being said, I will agree that the less stress the better.

@ LC, if you are pregnant you should qualify for medicaid, particularly if your health insurance won't cover your pregnancy. An ER can even help you get that paperwork started, if necessary. They are fully equipped with social workers. Please DO NOT hesitate to seek medical care of any kind if you are worried or concerned about anything. You know your body best and waiting could result in far more dangerous situations if you were to have an ectopic pregnancy or some other more serious situation going on. (cont)

All that being said, I just read the remainder of the thread. Glad to see I am not the only one with too much estrogen this week.

I am not sure (have not re-read the thread) that an ER was not recommended due to experience of the staff. We ALL know that an ER costs far more and should ONLY be used for an emergency. Not for someone who took a pregnancy test that has one line lighter than expected.

Also, LC seems to have insurance that does not kick in for a few more days. PLEASE, wait until you hit the 30 days, otherwise, my tax dollars pay for your kid. I pay for too many kids (none of whom are mine).

Kathy I am saying that if she is concerned about tubal pregnancy she should go to the ER and that it is irresponsible to suggest avoiding it just because of the cost. There are unfortunately people in this world that will avoid it for that reason and risk their lives. I suppose I could have been clearer on that.

And while I don't always agree with the way Medicaid is used in most cases, I do think that all women who are denied insurance coverage from private insurance should have the option of medicaid for pregnancy. It increases the chances of them getting medical care and decreases the risks to the baby and mom. Because often Planned Parenthood isn't an option. Sliding scale or not, I am not sure if they provide prescriptions and I am pretty sure they don't provide birthing facilities (although I could be wrong).

And if I remember correctly, her insurance says they won't cover her pregnancy if conception is earlier than 30 days from the date of coverage. they won't cover it JUST because she waited 30 days to go to the doctor. Either way, she may NEED medicaid, which is why I suggested it.

I grew up in and around the health care industry and it still amazes me the number of misconceptions about it.
