Hey everyone! My MUA asked me to bring a foundation and concealer in my skin tone for the day of. She has a lot of shades, but they all contain SPF and are close to my shade, but are not quite matching. Can anyone recommend a brand with pale shades and doesn't contain any SPF. I also need something with good staying power. I'm trying to avoid flashback as much as possible.

The whole reason I'm using a makeup artist is to get that awesome airbrushed makeup that photographs well & wont melt/cry off my face. With out that what's the point? I could just have someone at Mac do it.

OP well you're not getting airbrushed makeup, you're getting cream makeup which will not give you the same look as airbrushed, because the texture and the technique in which the types of makeup are put on are totally different. I'm going to recommend having your MUA do airbrush.

@Whit thank you for the suggestions! At least I know it's the correct shade if I go get matched, so I can't really complain. I know I'm a tough match so I think bringing my own will avoid problems. I need a new foundation anyways so I might as well get some. I sure as hell won't let her keep it.

@Elphaba I hear The Ordinary is an excellent brand for skin care. I want their Glycolic Toner. I'm hesitant to order foundation through their site and it end up not matching me.

OP - For a certified MUA, who has hopefully done weddings before, you'd think she'd know to stay away from formula's containing SPF, and be able to mix and match to get the perfect tone for you, for me, that's a red flag.

Again, make sure you do another trial with her to ensure the foundation you get works and lasts with the other products she's planning on using with you. Also keep in mind, if you can't get an "exact match", either buy two and mix, or go with the slightly darker one as a lighter one will wash you out. Sounds like a trip to the MAC counter might be best for you as they can match you and they have colors that are neutral, cool, neutral cool, and neutral warm, to get the closest match to your skin and undertones.

@KatieBMY There's nothing wrong with using a liquid or cream foundation. It's all liquid, just the technique is and how it's applied is different-- it can, in fact, give you the same look. Airbrush doesn't work with all skin types either.

The past few years I have used Clinique either with SPF or not. I just picked up a sample of Fenty Beauty and it is flawless has no SPF and has very pale shades. I totally recommend getting samples and seeing what foundations work best for you. I do not like to buy unless I know 100% it will work for my shade.
