When we first got engaged, I did the normal thing and went dress hunting. I found the dress that I could see myself walking down the aisle, problem today is that it has been discontinued. The dress was sold by davids bridal. I have searched with the same wording they use and have found NOTHING, not even close to this dress!!!!

Any ideas on how I can achieve this and get my dress I so want!!!!!

Yes go to any bridal store and show them this dress and that you want to try on something in this shape and style to see how it fits.. and if you don’t like it, you might as well try on another style LOL!

Your wedding is over 2 years away. You have so much time until then. You don’t need to panic and buy a dress now. It’s too soon.

I had a similar situation. I found a dress online at David’s bridal and when I called to make an appointment they said it was discontinued and they no longer sold it in the store. I was able to find the same dress at preownedweddingdress with the tags on it still and it was a lot cheaper. I was lucky that it was the size I wanted and it arrived perfectly. I could not have asked for a better experience in a nerve racking situation. Hopefully you will find it!!

I honestly don't have that much time, I have been slowly at this for 5 years and thought I would have more done than I do. I have a child with Wolf-Hirshhorn Syndrome and I wanna make sure I don't lose this dress again. I plan to buy now and alter it if need to when the time comes, actually was my FH's idea. We live in a smaller community where alterations are cheap, we have been talking to a few people!!!

I had the same thing happen to me! I started looking online to get an idea of what style of gown I like. I stumbled across this dress that as soon as I saw it I gasped. Our wedding isn't until 2019, so I had no intention of actually shopping yet. I kept browsing online but found nothing even close to that one so I decided to call a local boutique to see if it was even in my budget and was told that unfortunately it had been discontinued a month before. I went into panic mode and I got very lucky, finding it on preownedweddingdresses.com in my size and for 70% off. I ordered it and I am so happy that I did! I figured that worst case scenario if it didn't fit or I didn't like it in person then I would just sell it. My experience with the site was great! Good luck!

What matters is how YOU feel about the dress and how YOU feel in the dress. A dress that "Bride A" absolutely loves and chooses for her big day could look ridiculous and hideous to "Bride B". It isn't their day and it isn't their dress so I say screw it. Do what feels right! Bottom line is that if you didn't act on your gut, then you will probably compare the vision of it in your head to any other dress that you try on. That "what if" situation. I say if you have the extra cash, buy the dress. Worst case scenario if it doesn't meet your expectations in person, then sell it. As long as you feel comfortable with the risk, then who cares!
