Fortune Bouquets

orchid21, on December 31, 2009 at 2:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Many of you have probably heard of this idea already, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway. Smiley smile I'm not going to have a lot of single women at my ceremony, so I'm thinking of modifying an idea I saw from Martha Stewart. Basically it'll be a break-away bouquet but each bunch of flowers will have a ribbon/fortune attached. I plan on asking all the women (or guests) married or not to try to catch part of the bouquet. I might have the fortunes be funny or strange rather than just related to what boy they might marry. This way more people can participate. Smiley smile

What a great idea. I had never heard of that before, but it sounds so much better than asking only the single ladies to get out there!

I thought about that too. There will only be 4 at ours. Thanks for the link.

I did not do a break away boquet, but we asked that all the ladies participate. They loved it, and really got into it!

We are not doing to bouquet toss or garder toss to the singles. We are doing the anniversary dance in place of it to celebrate marraige. I guess I never put any thought into a break-away bouquet. Good idea!!

I've seen this done with little charms tied on with ribbon instead of the fortunes. The charms were things like a pacifier, and engagement ring, a single rose, a dollar sign... etc. LOVE this idea. Smiley smile

I'm doing to bouquet toss and garter belt but we're going to get all the ladies and men who want to participate in it, I'll even let the kids take part in the bouquet toss. Rather than have it be some sort of awkward uncomfortable situation for the single ladies, I see it as more of a fun little 'who gets to take home an extra party favor' sort of game. I'm thinking of announcing the bouquet toss by saying something along the lines of, "So who wants the bouquet?" rather than "Can all the unmarried ladies join me on the floor for a minute." I think getting everyone involved makes it more fun for everyone.
