Forgot international info on Save the Date

Jennifer, on September 16, 2023 at 2:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
My daughter is having a destination wedding next April. We forgot to include the wedding website on the Save the Dates. Does anyone have suggestions what to do? I’m concerned because we need to have the accommodations information available asap. We have thought of just texting this information or should we send out another mailing?

Can you send this in a text or email? Even a phone call or in person chat would work. Out of curiosity, why do guests need their hotels booked 6-12 months before they get the invitation and won’t know until that time if they can commit?

I’m having a destination wedding too. Our save the dates only had Cancun Mexico when we sent them out. We sent invitations and enclosures one month later. Since you have a website you can more than likely text/email your guest with all the information pertaining to the wedding.

I think the easiest method would be to send out a mailer to ensure everyone gets the info. The more cost effective way would be to call, text, email, send out a social media blast, etc. I think you are definitely smart to give your guests the accommodation info asap, as we had many guests book their accommodations for our destination wedding over 6 months out.

If it’s a destination wedding outside the country it’s best to give guest as much time as possible so they can work on not only accommodations but passports as well.

Just a quick note to say that invitations should go out 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding to avoid confusion, people losing the invitation, and looking like you're B-listing. That includes international weddings.

OP, it's fine to send a text with the link to the website, people like likely just click on it right away. It's almost easier than sending it in a separate mailing.
