For those who peek- When did people start buying things off your registry?

Nope, I've got nothing off of my registry!

I've been getting kinda bummed about the wedding, glad to hear it's just me being crazy thinking no one is coming and cares vs actually no one coming or caring.

You could be getting lots of checks or off registry stuff......

Pan- I know this is kind of weird, but I would almost rather have the stuff of our registry then money. Not that I would tell our guests that, or refuse money.

I know we could use the cash to buy the stuff of the registry, but most of the stuff is not things we need, but things we would like (we don't need new towels, but the ones we have are crap) but I know that any cash would just get put in savings, then used to pay bills, buy food, etc.

So really if people don't buy us the stuff of our registry we probably won't get it

People bought our registry stuff very close to the wedding date. As in, within a month up until the wedding day. And they're still buying it. We've gotten several gifts and gift cards to our registry stores since the wedding, people just shipped them to our home afterwards.

I hear what you're saying about the cash. All the cash we received went towards our HM and/or padding our savings account when we got home. It's not like we got cash and used it to complete our china set.

I got a lot of things right before the shower (and a few sent to me afterwards), but I think most gifts will be purchased right before the wedding (a week til the day of). That's how it was with my FBIL and his wife.

I've had the registry for a few weeks and nothing yet though I only checked because I was still updating it

For my first shower, things were bought the week before. For this shower (today), same thing. People tend to wait till the last minute, I've noticed, probably cause they get busy. I haven't "peeked" at what I've gotten, just at the cover sheet that says how many items were purchased etc.

I imagine if anyone uses the registry for the wedding, it'll be the same thing. The week before.

It's the day of for me (a little computer/relaxation before the organized chaos)

and only 5 things were purchased from the registry.

My mother bought early because the cookware was on sale, but other than that only 3 guests have bought anything. We didn't have a shower but I sent registry info in the invitation. Based on conversations I've had, a lot of people haven't even looked at it.

I'm with you on wanting things from my registry. I just had a conversation with my grandmother and she told me she was sending us a check, but I should use the money to buy the Kitchen Aid Mixer. I tried to explain to her that I would never spend that much money myself, the check would go probably towards the honeymoon, and if she wants me to have a kitchen aid, she needs to buy it for me. Hope she listens. I really want one
