What song are you having the couple who catch these dance to?

    As far as I know, there are some areas where this is the norm. However, in California, this doesn't seem to happen too often.

    The idea comes from the tradition that the single woman who catches the bouquet is the next one to get married, and the single man who catches the garter should also be the next one to get married.

    Making them dance together was a way to bring them closer and theoretically start a new relationship where they would eventually be married.

    Keep in mind, some of these traditions date quite a few years back, where dances were formal and meeting prospective partners was not as "easy" as it is nowadays. I'm not saying you SHOULD do it. I'm just trying to share some information on the tradition.

    I always ask the bride and groom I'm working with if they want to have this particular tradition played out. So far, it's been over 95% against it.
