What song or songs did you use?

The majority of our guests are older and married, (Mostly being in their 40's or older), so we are doing the anniversary dance and then giving the longest married couple my toss bouquet and a nice bottle of wine.

We will have to have at least one song, maybe two, but I'm not really sure what they should be. I'm thinking maybe some Sinatra or something like those lines. Or even an older country song, even though that is not my flavor of music.

Anyone with some suggestions as to what would be appropriate or what songs did you have?

(FH family is on the conservative side)

We were going to use Alan Jackson - Livin' on Love.

ETA - Another good one is Brad Paisley - Little Moments.

We are going with older songs for our anniversary dance, Rod Stewarts, Have I Told You Lately and letting the DJ pick another older song if needed.

We are planning on having the DJ release people after 30 seconds starting a 1 year, 5 years and then by 5 year increments until only a few couples are left . We think the longest married couple will be 40ish years and hoping 1 song will be good enough. The couple married the longest will get the toss bouquet.

So I kind of want to do this but I don't want it to be sad for both of our grandmothers as our grandfathers have passed. What do you guys think?

I'm planning to do this! My parents won't be the longest-married couple, but their 31st wedding anniversary is 3 days after our wedding and I really want to honor them and that milestone. I'm leaning towards Brad Paisley "Then" because it talks about how love grows deeper over time.

@Athena how long ago did their husbands pass? I'm sure it will be bittersweet for them but it may not be as sad as you think. Maybe ask your mom/dad and see what they think.
