So you put all this time and energy and money into planning this one day. Are you planning on what you both (as the couple) want or what you know your family would not complain about? For example : BBQ from a food truck or a buffet instead of sit down platted dinner.

What we want with our families in mind. We're the first children to get married in both families and they're as excited as we are. Plus weddings to me are all about family and coming together.

We did exactly what we wanted and we were very big on budgeting and kept it at a bare minimum (compared to others at least)... so my grandpa offered to pay for the whole thing, which we're super thankful for. And thankfully, my family is not controlling and never tells me what to do.

The décor and energy of our wedding were all us. Our menu was for the guests. We caved to our mothers and had a dove release.

We're paying for this party so we're having what we want. There are things we're considering over others (i.e - despite the coffee filling being delish, we'll opt for another cake filling) but the choices are all ours.
