For brides wearing illusion back dresses

Ameline, on July 1, 2016 at 1:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

If your dress has or had an illusion back, did you wear your hair up? I know I need to show off the gorgeous back of my dress, but I am uncomfortable wearing my hair up. I always wear it down. If you see me with my hair up, I am either working out or very hungover. I probably should have thought of this before buying a gown with a pretty back, but I freaking love the dress. My hair is not super long--ends about an inch before the bra strap line. Anyone have ideas/alternatives?

    I also have an illusion back and it's way too beautiful to not show off. I hate wearing my hair up though, i feel like i look like a man... So i'm going to style mine by bringing it all to the front on one side, kinda like this picture.

    I'm having the exact same problem...I think I'm going to go with the updo though. Still have to have my trial so we'll see what we can do with it

    Mine isn't illusion back, but it does have beaded straps that crisscross and I don't want to cover them up either. I am not a fan of updos in general, probably because the only time I wear my hair up is to the gym. I was about to look for a pic, but it is really close to @Sam's sooooo no need for similar pics!

    I plan to do an updo but with loose strands so it still kinda has some flowing locks to it.

    My dress has an open back. and I did my trial with my hair in an updo so I could show off the back. I am not a huge fan of updos, but it just seemed right for my style of dress. But I am considered something like @Sam posted.

    I have an illusion back and am wearing it up, but also doing a looser style so it doesn't look so severe. Definitely do a trial so you can play around with different looks and see what suits you!

    Mine isn't an illusion back but it's still very low with the straps. I don't like wearing my hair up either so I'm going to wear my hair half up and half down. There are tons if inspiration pics on Pinterest for the style.

    @Bailey, I like that a lot!

    I'm having a destination wedding and was hoping to skip the hair trial, but I do have several days in Maui before the wedding, so I'll go ahead and schedule one.

    So mine us low back (although I originally wanted illusion go figure) and I NEVER wear my hair up. Gym and bed is it. And I had real crappie broken short hair for like 10 years and it's now long and luscious so I want it down. I plan to have an updo for the ceremony and let the bottom half down for the reception so I still feel like me. Here's my trial it turned out amazing. So maybe that's an option for you if you like the idea of doing both?

    @Bailey I love your hair! I think having those few strands hanging down in front would make me feel better about my hair being up.

    I have an illusion back and am definitely wearing my hair up. I feel like the back is the best part of my dress so I really don't want to cover it up in any way. The side-swept ideas above are good ones.

    I'd do some sort of side swept look, it seems like a good compromise if you don't want it all the way up!

    My dress has a low back and I'm on the fence of doing half up and half down or a low updo of some sort.

    I have an illusion back and I'm not wearing my hair up. It will be sides swept over my shoulder. And I have a cathedral veil.
