A wedding dress takes, on average, 6 months to come in unless you buy it off the rack. You shouldn't wait too long to buy it. I bought mine a year before my wedding. Food is a matter of preference.

I've been told look and try on dresses a year before the day but 8 months before purchase the dress then 2 months before have your final fitting.

As far as food it's what you and FH want.

The food served at a wedding is completely up to you and your FS! Each wedding is different What type of food would you like to serve?
Brides often start dress shopping 10 - 12 months out from their wedding date. A number of factors can affect when you need to order such as the lead time of the bridal store, designer, alterations, etc. Have you started looking for a wedding dress yet?
