Do I need a menu for each person at the table or can I just have a menu sign by the buffet that tells what we are eating ?

One by the buffet is fine, or even one or two standing on each table for everyone to browse before they head up to the buffet— I personally like that so I can have a plan before I go up!

We did do menus at each person’s seat but did it more for decorative purposes than anything— it just gave the place setting some flair 🤣

I wanted to do one at each seat but that’s just so expensive so we’re going to have one on a stand on each table and then a list by the buffet just for decoration

I would suggest to definitely have at least one by the buffet to inform people what will be available to eat (on the menu) in case of last minute changes and people showing up, but also give your guests a heads up as to what will be on the menu in advance.

We sent out the options to our guests ahead of time and had some of our guests reach out asking if a vegetarian option was available, in which we asked our caterer and was told that they would provide that option at no additional cost.

We just had signs at each item on the buffet table and guests had a sizable period of time before the ceremony and durring the cocktail hour to scope out their options before the buffet opened. I agree that having one menu on each table is a nice courtesy but it is not required. Menus for each person are often done so that the place settings look full before guests get their food (either on top of the charger or in place of one).

Preferably from a guest standpoint, there is at least one per table so guests can read it over before they go up to the buffet line. That gives guests a heads up of what is available and what to avoid. On the buffet table itself, each dish should be labeled what it is and any potential allergens.

We had a buffet and we did a menu for each person at the table. We made them ourselves though by printing out the info and using a pin to attach them to cardboard. The paper colour the menu was printed matched the colour of the tablecloth as we had a rainbow of table cloths. Smiley smile
