I am having trouble finding a florist. No one is interested in working with my flower choice. Saying there are many other flower choices to work with. And with a tight budget I was thinking about skipping out on real flowers and going fake. Michael's is having a 60%[and more] off sale on all...
I am having trouble finding a florist. No one is interested in working with my flower choice. Saying there are many other flower choices to work with. And with a tight budget I was thinking about skipping out on real flowers and going fake. Michael's is having a 60%[and more] off sale on all spring/summer flowers . I was planning on not having alot of flowers anyway.

I know I shouldn't care about what people will say but if you were in my position would you use fake flowers?

What? A florist said this? I've never heard such a ridiculous statement!! Hydrangea, Carnation and baby's breath are some of the most common items found in a flower shop!! Unbelievable.

If this is what you really want, you could go fake---easily. But you could also go real. I know carnations aren't very expensive, and there are lots of places that sell them in bulk. Baby's breath too! Have you looked at Costco? They have some beautiful flowers.

I commented earlier, advocating for fake, as that is what I'm doing, and it's working for me. But then I read some more of your comments, and had to comment again.

There are florists out there who will work with a smaller budget. Make some more contacts. Tell them, my flower budget is $XXX. Here's what I want, so what can I get for that amount of money. Most of them will work with you. Sounds like you just started with the wrong person.

You might try Costco or Sam’s Club. Both are available in bulk for a reasonable price. I was looking into the same flower selection. You can also order other flowers in bulk too and pick the color.

I am really surprised that a florist would say that? All of those flowers are very common for weddings and year-round events....how odd! I had to give up my favorite flower (Peonies) for our late August wedding but they're so finicky anyways and add that heat and they simply wouldn't last.

A lot of folks are opting for fake these days, and I don't see a problem with it at all! We are doing real - but that is because I am a flower nut and I have to have fresh flowers for my day. We are ordering them from wholesale sites and are putting together all of the arrangements ourselves. We are saving a TON of $$$ that way.
