I prefer fake. I hate the smell of flowers, reminds me of a funeral home.

I am doing a brooch bouquet with feathers, and non floral centerpieces. I am not at all a fan of flowers and I feel like they suck up the budget, but if I was going to do flowers I would do silk.
    Best wishes

I think good quality, life-like faux flowers are just as nice! To me, too many real flowers smells like a funeral home. Not to mention it kills my allergies! Im going with faux! Also, the more you make the faux bouquets full and use enough flowers- the more real and beautiful they look!

I’m Team Real Flowers! I’m ok with a single stem BM bouquet (or mini lanterns or hoops), and little or no flowers in centerpieces. But if there are to be flowers, I want real. It’s not just the look but a natural “live” vibe you can feel from them.

Honestly I'm doing both. Real for the bouquets and silk and foam for everything else. Easier to buy and work with and they don't wilt.

$3000-$5000 is just too much money for real flowers only to use for 5 hours. We rented silk flowers from bridalbouquets.com for around $600 including 10 centerpieces.

Well, I prefer real flowers but were getting married in a Garden so that's taken care of. If your concern is the cost look into Costco. Yes Costco they do wedding flowers. They deliver and they are relatively inexpensive.

I’m also doing real flowers ... the cost is unreal so we will scale it down for the centerpieces. My original quote was $2500 yikes!! But after scaling it down for the centerpieces I’m hoping to save at least $1000.. probably going to do baby’s breath and store bought for the tables

I prefer fresh flowers. Faux orchids look great though.

Depends on the fake flowers. If they are book print or lace or seashell, they are gorgeous.

However, I hate the ones trying to look real. The biggest reason is because they don't. I also don't like the eco friendly argument for them. Neither option is really eco friendly, therefore it is a bad argument. The silk ones can't be composted. The both ones (the trying to real vs real) and have a pretty big carbon footprint. So, that isn't a difference for either.

To save money, I just nixed most floral elements completely. There are no floral centerpieces. Just a couple bouquets and boutonnieres and my budget is under $500 total.

The only real flowers I’m using are for my bouquet but I’m doing faux flowers for the bridesmaids, boutonnières, and centerpieces. I got ones that look real, so I don’t think they’re tacky at all. And I got them for 50% off so they were cheap. So it isn’t always true that you get what you pay for. You just have to be careful.

I'm not a flower person but I did real flowers for bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages, I'm debating on silk flowers to decorate a corner of an arch. Other than that there will only be a few real flower petals on the table and that's it

I’m doing high quality faux flowers. No one can tell they aren’t real and I get to keep them forever. They are not dollar store cheap faux flowers, but they are still a lot less expensive than real flowers. I can’t imagine spending hundreds or even thousands on real flowers that are going in the trash after a few hours.
