It’s kinda a toss up (no pun intended) I’ve seen absolutely gorgeous faux flowers and terrible ones. Also the type of flowers can make a difference in the realistic look. But if it looks nice and you like it do it! I’m considering doing real greenery and faux flowers

I personally prefer real flowers, but that can get expensive. I think I’ll be doing real flowers for the bouquets and non-floral centerpieces. I’ve been in a wedding where they used fake flowers for the bouquets and to be honest, the “real looking” fake flowers can be just as expensive as real ones.

It depends on if you're talking for decor or the ones you and your ladies will carry. Mama offered to grow flowers for my wedding amd I'm taking her up on it for the decor flowers. But because I'm also planning a second reception (for his family in Mississippi), I'm ordering fake flowers for my bouquet.

Im not a flowers kind of gurl so I didn't want to pay thousands for flowers. Luckily my cousin is an event coordinator (wedding) so I will have real ones but only cost me $400.. other wise I probably would have done artificial simplicity.

I think real helps create a more elegant vibe. I personally don’t feel fake flowers belong in a wedding, but we have different thoughts on that.
I did real flowers for the bridal party, including parents, and did nonfloral centerpieces. I got quoted $50 for small pomanders and I couldn’t stomach paying that.
I had a florist make my bouquet, my husband boutonnière, and the flowers for our parents. Then I bought a bunch of flowers from
the grocery store to hang from the stairs, bridesmaid bouquets, groomsman boutonnières, single stems for each table (but they died 😔) and flowers for the anniversary dance. Total on flowers I spent $380. I was quoted almost $900 from florist for less flowers.
You have to decide how important the are to you and go from there. They weren’t important to me.

I’m having sola wood flowers for the bouquets. Some people make the flowers themselves. I ordered pre-assembled bouquets off of Etsy. For 3 bouquets and 3 boutonnières it was around $300. We are using baby’s breath for center pieces. The flowers were the place I felt I would be okay with cutting back on the budget so we could increase the budget in other areas.

I would just suggest doing your research and finding out what you like best.

None of my flowers are real. Florists were out of budget so I started to DIY my floral as soon as we picked a date and color scheme.

I'm doing sola flowers for my bouquets, corsages, and boutonnières. I was able to get 4 bouquets, 2 corsages, and 4 boutonnieres for under 300. We are doing real flowers for the centerpieces but our wedding is small (only 4 tables), so it won't be too costly. Flowers just aren't super important to me so that isn't where I wanted to spend the bulk of our budget. I also think sola flowers photograph well and that's all I really wanted.

I'm doing faux flowers for mine. Saving about $1500 so far! I'm not quite done yet. This pic is of the flowers I am using to go on my arch.

I think real flowers are beautiful but they were low priority to me! I think silk/fake flowers can look real with the right person doing them. I did sola wood flowers for my bouquet and it was perfect to me!

I put bunches together of the foliage and wire wrapped them together in a line with one continuous length of wire. I used floral tape at first. What a catastrophe. The wire is much stronger in my opinion. I saw a YouTube video that used a long piece of thick jute rope to wire everything to. I didn't need it bit thought it was a good suggestion. Mine will be removed from the arch and placed on my head table at the reception. And thank you! Took me 2 weekends.

Thanks! Great advice. I love the idea to repurpose it for the head table.

    100% real all the way.

Faux can be okay. But not blue fake flowers. And they are rampant on this site. With fake you get what you pay for.

I’m doing faux flowers. One member of the bridal party is allergic to the flowers I wanted so I found some pretty bouquets at Ali express. One of my maids in overseas and she found cheap flowers for me, so we are covered!

I'm very DIY so I took a couple classes on arranging at my local flower shop, have purchased silk flowers (in increments, when craft stores had huge sales), and will arrange them myself! That way I know exactly what I am getting, can arrange them ahead of time, and don't have to worry about them dying. Plus I can arrange them again and again in my home or sell them!
