Flowers for the head table?

VenetianBride, on August 25, 2015 at 3:34 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15

Our centerpieces are being done by our florist - pretty simple: orchid in water in a vase with a floating candle, on a square mirror surrounded by tealights. I asked her to do a few for our large head table, and she advised against it. She said the head table tends to get crowded and instead suggested that she put out 5 vases for my 5 bridesmaids to put their bouquets in during dinner. She said this is very common. Has anyone seen/done this before?

Yeah, I think I've seen that alot, seems pretty common. I've also seen them used as floral for sweetheart tables or cake tables.

My florist suggests the same. That way, the bouquets act as decoration, and they aren't flopped on a table to die.

I'm having a sweetheart table, and that's all we're doing. At my brother's wedding, they did the same thing your florist recommended. I'm so glad we didn't have to worry about extra clutter at the table because it was already tight as is!

My florist will be placing a floating candle in each of the vases at the head table so it doesn't look so empty. We will remove it and replace with our bouquets afterwards.

Yes, very common. this is what we are doing with the bridesmaids bouquets, but we will have a large arrangement in front of us as well. Not sure where my giant cascade bouquet will go though yet.

We did a sweetheart table. Our flowers were my two bm bouquets and my bouquet in the middle. Very common. If you want something different I would look into unique vases or holders. You could also add petals underneath if you want to make sure it looks full of flowers.

Yes, I agree, the table gets very crowded and if the bouquets aren't cared for, they really take a hit during the reception. Using the BM bouquets warms the heart while charming the table. The meaning runs deep, and the effect is everlasting awe.

We're using 2 bridesmaids bouquets and my bouquet on the head table, and then the third bridesmaid's bouquet will go on the table with the guest book I think
