Flower girls & ring bearers

Who here is having a flower girl or ring bearer? I'm wondering if it's ok for the pastor to have the rings already up there so we won't have to deal with kids possibly having temper tantrums. Is that ok?

Amen! I've seen the same thing. It's like, they behave when it doesn't count but when it's the real deal, they act up!!!!

It's nice that she likes her dress. Having mom & dad right there will be such a help too!

That's great! All that matters is that you're happy and confident in your choice.

A friend here on WW suggested having a ring guard with a briefcase with the rings. It would make him look more like FBI which he would like. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the input. We've decided Dave will hand the rings to the pastor & we'll go without flower girl or ring barer to make it less stressful for everyone.

I've found a lot of people have a ring bearer but there's just fake rings for him. Usually, an adult in the wedding party has the real rings. I like the way you've embraced having kids in your wedding though.

I get the feeling that flower girls are done more often than ring bearers. I hope the drama dies down with your FBIL.

Thank you. Smiley laugh But I doubt things will change with my FBIL, he's the type to cut off family than admit he's wrong.

Don't blame you. If I hadn't already committed to it, I wouldn't have either.

Is there anyway you can back out of it or is it the kind of thing you'd be hearing about for years to come?

The kids attire has been ordered and paid for. I wouldn't want to do that now. It will be ok...I just would make a different decision now, a year later.

Im not giving my flower girl or ring bearer the real rings! (Don’t need that stress on my wedding day lol) I will be giving my FH ring to my MOH to hold and my FH BM will be holding my ring. When it’s time to do the vows with the rings then the MOH & BM will just give them to us.

(My sister did it that way for her wedding and it worked well)

Seeing this thread made me realize and be okay to just not having a flower girl or ring bearer. Also most of the children in the family are either about to be born or over 12 years old.
