Flower Girl Age Limit.

Rachael, on August 19, 2017 at 3:01 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 36

How old is the cut off age for a flower girl. My flower girl will almost be ten when I have my wedding. I have always known I wanted her to be in my wedding some how. She is very special to me and my family. Is ten to old?

I don't think that there is a cut off age. There have been weddings where people had their grandmas be flower girls. If you want her to be a flower girl then go for it.

I agree.. Let her be a flower girl. I was about 9 or 10 when I was flower girl many years ago. It was myself and another girl around the same age. It was beautiful our dresses were same style but different colors.

I believe cut off is 12,but of course even grandparents are flower girls/boys so who cares really.

A lot of people will tell you 8 is the cut-off, but I believe it's when SHE thinks it is. I've seen some very mature 9 year olds who wanted to be junior bridesmaids instead as well as some 12 year olds perfectly pleased being the flower girl. At that age, leave it up to them.

My 9 year old wanted to be a jr BM. But I asked her what she wanted to be called. She thought "flower girl" was a little kid thing, and I didn't feel like trying to change her mind lol

All caps: FLOWER GIRLS HAVE NO AGO LIMIT! this is the biggest peeve of mine on this forum. As PPs have said: grandmothers are flower girls, and that is what we are doing and I can't wait!

I think there should be an age minimum though; no pulling an infant in a wagon stuff. I know a lot of churches have an age minimum, for a good reason.

When I saw the title, I was going to say 10 is kind of tops for a flower girl. Once she's in middle school, she should be given title as "junior BM".

I think you can have any age as a flower girl. Really what you want and what she's comfortable with

My niece informed me that the age cut-off is 12. She turns 12 five days before my wedding and insisted that she be a Jr. Bridesmaid because "12 is too old to be a flower girl". Lol.

My stepdaughter wanted to be a flower girl then she said she wanted to be a Jr. bridesmaids because she wanted to stand up there with her aunt and my cousins. After a month she decided jr.bridemaid. She will be 9 next year when we get married. We will see if that's her final answer whrn we go dress shopping.

My daughter was 10 in my sister's wedding and was a Jr bridesmaid.

I think it depends on what the girl would be comfortable doing. Does she think she's too old?

My 9 year old cousin was my FG and she was thrilled to do it. I don't think there's an age limit. The only thing that matters is whether the kid in question thinks she's too old.

A 50-year old first-time bride had always promised her niece that she would be the flower girl when Auntie got married. The 30-something niece was grinning ear-to-ear has she came down the aisle ahead of her aunt!
