Flower crowns...yay or nay?

bellamae, on February 17, 2016 at 8:44 PM

I love the look of flower crowns but I'm not sure if it's too trendy to wear for the wedding. I thought of maybe wearing one for part of our e-pics instead. Is anyone else thinking of wearing one? Thoughts on them?

Thanks everyone! The fact that they are trendy definitely makes me nervous that I would regret it later on. We are doing our e-pics in a couple months so maybe I will wear one with one of my outfits...that way if I end up regretting it it's only a few pictures instead of all of my wedding pictures.

We wore them in my friends wedding in April, not itchy at all and she looked gorgeous!

I've worn flower crowns in the past at music festivals and such and never had an issue with them being uncomfortable. And I bought them online at Etsy so I think it depends on which shop you purchase them from. I plan on wearing one for my engagement shoot but not the wedding. It's cute, definitely.

I think they're really pretty. I'm considering wearing one as well.

I hate when people talk about regretting something down the road. (in the context of wedding attire) I don't know how to properly explain it, but in my opinion style changes so often, that down the road, you probably won't like much of your outfit/style choices. I think you should do what makes you happy now. Think of it, looking back on 80s weddings, I don't think there is anything they could have done that would have made them look more appealing to us now. Its just how the style was back then. Like I said, if you think a flower crown looks good now, then go for it!

I think they are really pretty, but it all depends on the feel of your gown, and your wedding itself. Plus IF you are worried about regretting it down the line, You can get one, and have your photographer take some fun photos with you wearing it. You don't have to wear it all night.

Hell to the yes. im wearing one, and its going to be big and beautiful and frida kahlo-esque. a veil isnt my style - big statement hair accessories is very 'me' - i frequently wear a big flower in my hair in my daily life, so a big flower crown is just a step up from that.

i am putting it on a headband instead of a crown though - i find crowns to be really annoying to wear and hard to keep in place.

I disagree with it being a fad. I think they're appropriate depending on the type of wedding esp if whimsical or boho style. They're also quite typical in certain regions such as Hawaii.

Honestly, there is something that will date everyone in their wedding or be a fashion don't later down the line. If it fits your style then go for it.

I approve of wearing flower headbands, hence why I'm wearing this one. We're having an outdoor, whimsical wedding so it fits perfectly with the theme and my nature-loving personality.

I love flower crowns! I don't believe that your wedding look needs to be "timeless". I love looking at old wedding pictures and seeing things that were popular during those time periods. If you love it, do it!

Okay so first.. Not being rude but wearing a Haku isn't "traditional" in Hawaiian weddings.. But I definitely would LOVE to wear a baby's breath crown and mostly will have my bridesmaids wear one too!

No offense taken. I am not an expert on Hawaiian culture. Perhaps traditional was not the best word, but they're very commonly featured here and definitely fitting for the style and setting of our event. All the flowers for our bridal party and VIPs will be wearing leis.

I love them and I'll be wearing one! But just be prepared for your future children to laugh at how "2010's" your wedding was hahaha. Everytime I see my parents 80's wedding pictures I give my mom a hard time about the sleeves.

Who cares if it's trendy? Do you want to look at photos and lie to people that you got married ten years later/earlier? If you like it, do it.
