Flower crowns...yay or nay?

bellamae, on February 17, 2016 at 8:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36

I love the look of flower crowns but I'm not sure if it's too trendy to wear for the wedding. I thought of maybe wearing one for part of our e-pics instead. Is anyone else thinking of wearing one? Thoughts on them?

I'm definitely planning on wearing one! Of course, I'm getting married on Maui alongside the ocean, so it seems totally appropriate to me. It's called a Haku, and it's traditional at weddings in Hawaii.

I guess it depends on the type of wedding u are having and your style. I'm wearing a headband no veil and my daughter will (hopefully) be wearing a flower crown. She'll only be 19 months at that point so fingers crossed!

I think they are pretty but more of a fad if that makes sense.

I wore one, as a flower girl, and it was uncomfortable and itchy.

I think they're so pretty but I also think they're really distracting. Like when I see pictures of a bride wearing them that's ALL I notice at first.

They ARE pretty, but just remember what some wedding photos from the 1970s look like. Smiley smile If you'll be happy looking at your photos 40 years from now, I say do it! If you think it's a fad, and will think, why DID I do that, don't. LOL.

I think they are so pretty! But I ordered one on Etsy and was so unsatisfied with it. I wouldn't recommend ordering one online. The material I ordered was really fake and I hated it. It may look better from far away or in pictures but now I'm just so unsure of what to wear in my hair. If you get one I would buy it in person at a bridal shop, or make one yourself. Here is something else I considered

They are very pretty! But, I agree with previous poster that they are distracting. They look great in styled shoots, but I'm not a huge fan at real weddings.

I also think that they will be like how we look at the puffy sleeves from the 80s. I don't want to look back at my picture and completely cringe.

No matter what, you'll look beautiful! Do what you want!

They are pretty trendy. Altho they are really "in" now they may not be when you look back.

I love them as long as it goes with your dress. It would definitely look weird with mine. If you have something flowy and bohoy go for it!

Do it! It's popular now, but I don't think it's a trend in the same way as puffy sleeves... flowers are just pretty, and that's timeless! I've seen some that are massive, and I think those might not "age" as well.

Also considering one for e-pics, but I have bangs and I feel like it would just smash them - not quite the look for which I'm going! Looking like I will make a trip to the florist for other prop flowers anyway though.

Nay, only because my experience with them is they are itchy.

I don't like it. I think it looks to silly. - they wind up looking to much like hair gardens and are distracting.

edit- it's not my wedding- and I doubt I'll be at yours- so my opinion means practically nothing. But you did ask. But really the answer- is wear what you like and makes you happy.

I love them, but not on brides.

    Let me elaborate:

I think they're beautiful on brides, but they're too trendy. I think they're something that one would regret a few years down the road.

    They are beautiful.

But like others said they can be overpowering.

I think they will look really dated

Yay. Like most have said they will likely go out of style...but like all things..they'll come back.
