Florist quote

How long would you wait to get a quote from a florist? I mean, I understand that a florist is more a la carte and highly variable, but I had a scheduled appointment a week ago today and still have not received said quote, even after they called me today to say I would have it in my email by the end...

I mean, I understand that a florist is more a la carte and highly variable, but I had a scheduled appointment a week ago today and still have not received said quote, even after they called me today to say I would have it in my email by the end of today. I'm not picky, I just asked fot white and ivorytcream flowers and that lilies be incorporated, went to this one first because they're closest to the venue. Wait for the quote or move on at this point?

It took one of the venues I went to for flowers over 2 weeks to get me their quote. Another Florist took less than 48 hours. I think it really depends on the person, their organization and motivation, and how busy the company is.

The only florist I've had a consultation with so far told me a week for the quote, and I got it about 2 days after that. But it was also the week of July 4th, so the delay didn't really bother me. I would just follow up.

The first florist I met with took 3 weeks to send me a quote. But we also had a shitty consultation with her. I'm talking zero pictures looked at or discussed, and insisting that we just describe what we want in a ten minute span. She told us we would have the quote in 4 days. And when we finally got it, I hated all of the inspiration pictures she used. Didn't do the colors I asked for at all.

But luckily we met with a different florist 2 weeks after the first consultation and she was wonderful. She sat with us for almost an hour showing us picture after picture, even going directly to the website of her wholesaler for us to pick the exact colors we wanted. And she had so many ideas and suggestions and we're really excited to see her vision. She provided us a quote before we left the consultation and emailed us the contract and electronic copy of the quote the next day. We booked her immediately because we liked her and her prices were great! When we finally got the quote from the first florist, it ended up being $250 more for less flowers. Glad we passed on that one.

I have followed up, I think over the weekend I sent an email, and then yesterday they called me to tell me I would have it by the end of the day- that it was all figured out just needed to be put into a formal itemized quote.. still nothing.

I've got no patience for that. Forget them and move on. I'm sure there are plenty of florists to choose from.

The florists I met with took 2 weeks because it was peak season. However they told me it would take that long and I have plenty of time so I didn't mind.
