Florals on a Budget

I'm realizing flowers are REALLY pricey and I'm in agreement with FH that flowers shouldn't take such a huge chunk of the budget, so I've decided on DIY-ing my centerpieces, arch, and aisle decor and just having the Bridal Party flowers ordered from a florist. But this includes the bouquet for me (Bride) and five bridesmaids, Boutonnieres for all men including fathers, flowergirl, and corsages for the moms.

Now I'm thinking of doing real flowers for the Bride's bouquet and DIY silk bouquets for the other women.

What are your thoughts on florals and how are you spending your flower budget at your weddings?

Look into flower moxie. Your Pinterest flower dreams on a budget. Also, hobby lobby has 50% sales on faux flowers all the time. I want a lot of greenery for decor so I’ll be getting my green flowers from there.

I'm not doing real flowers. I'm getting mostly my bridal bouquets and boutenaires from etsy! Their so pretty and have a lot of color decorations. After the wedding I can take my bouquet home to decorate the house and have it forever and same for the other girls.😊

I personally love fresh flowers, so it was important to me to have them at my wedding and it was something I was willing to spend more money on. I will say I do think they cost entirely too much, especially for what you get; it's a bit ridiculous!!! (We had real rose petals for the flower girl and she didn't even throw them on the aisle- don't waste money there!) Definitely shop around with florists to see who's the most reasonable and still fits your vision. Greenery can be a way to have cheaper bouquets (depending on what you might get, having more green items in the bouquet can lower costs). Sola wood flowers is another option! I see ads for them all the time and I know some people that have made beautiful bouquets and decor items with the wood flowers. You can buy flowers in bulk too and diy the bouquets. I have one friend whose wedding I attended that got all her bouquets from Sam's club and they were gorgeous for a fraction of the cost; try checking out other wholesale stores like that too. I also have another friend who bought flowers in bulk and made her own bouquets the day before the wedding; they turned out beautiful as well! And I know someone that made centerpieces and bouquets on their own after ordering from a website (I can't remember the exact name but I know you get a bunch of flowers and have to soak them in water before making the bouquets); that turned out to be much cheaper than buying from a florist and they were still so pretty! Also, fake flowers are definitely way cheaper and can look just as nice. the person I know that ordered flowers online also made a fake arch for her ceremony and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real.

There are some great alternative options out there that cost much less than a traditional florist but look just as nice!

I’ve decided to use Something Borrowed Blooms too. I’ve already placed our order for my March 13th wedding! 😁 Checking things off the list!
I am not a DIYer so that was never an option and we are having a DW in Gatlinburg so I wouldn’t have been able to meet with a florist to get things ordered. I was going to go with Southern Blooms Co with the sola wood flowers, but the more I thought about it it was just too much of an expensive. By going with Something Borrowed Blooms we are getting my bridal bouquet, 2 bridesmaids, 3 boutonnières (groom, best man, my dad), 3 corsages (MOB, MOG, and my step-mother), and 5 table centerpieces for $340.

No doubt florals are expensive for something you can use for well essentially just for that day. I'm doing DIY bouquets for my girls etsy has a lot of great selections on pu latex florals. They look and feel real! I paid less than $60 to make 5 bouquets. Only my bouquet will be real because that's what my fiance prefers. I would recommend finding alternatives or minimize real florals to extent possible.

We didn't want to spend a lot on flowers either. They cost too much to just use for one day. We decided on silk flowers that look real. We just paid $412 for everything we needed. We aren't using flowers in centerpieces or anything like that. The lady we are using is on Etsy! For $412 we got the following:
    13 inch bridal bouquet
    2 10" MOH bouquets2 8" Bridesmaids bouquets2 corsages 9 Boutonnieres
