I know nothing about flowers except that I have no idea how much they cost. FH and I were looking at our budget excel sheet over the weekend to correct our venue costs. Since we met food/bev min we don't have to pay the ceremony fee. Welp I noticed we only have $500 down for flowers.

How do you create a floral budget? Do you base it off I want ____ flower regardless if its in season or not, or do you base it off of what flower grows during the season you are getting married? We have 7 BM's, 7 GM's, and with guest count have around 14 tables that will need centerpieces.

I have read that your flowers should cost about 10% of your total budget.

I'll give you an idea of our prices. My venue (in TN) includes our floral centerpieces

for a certain amount of tables. Additional centerpieces start at $85, this includes pretty much any size/flowers as long as they are not exotic or out of season. The price sheet says bridesmaid bouquets start at $45 and boutonnières at $10. My bouquet is included so I'm not sure how much it'll cost but prob more than $45.

    Hope this helps!

It depends on what type of flowers and centerpieces you want. It also depends on the florist, their experience, and where you live. I agree with the other ladies that you should budget between 2-3k. Our floral quote is $3400 which was over our orginal budget but we made it work.

We decided on a rough budget. Then, we told our florist what we wanted and she quoted us. The quote ended up being a little over budget, but I don't have to do any centerpiece DIY- which is 100% worth it to me. We're paying $2600 for 7 pink rose bouts, my bouquet of 30 bloomed pink roses, 6 BM bouquets of pink roses and babies breath, 5-6 rose corsages for moms/grandmas, 3 rose bouts for dad/grandparents, 9 tall (5 foot) thin glass vase centerpieces with pink roses and white hydrangeas with silver branch and 9 short of the same without branches.

ETA: we're savings on cost by using 2 of our tall centerpieces as decor for the ceremony then transporting them back to the reception before cocktail hour

I just want something simple and pretty. Well at least what I feel is "simple." No tall centerpieces (fh's request), and seasonal. Unless I want flowers on pedestals for the ceremony, some scattered petals and candles will do and silk is fine for that since they will be swept up and thrown out. Just sent some inspo pics to a florists who emailed me back. Fingers crossed that is goes under realistic wedding category instead of pintrest wedding.
