Floral Bouquet Vs. Brooch Bouquet

Stacie, on September 20, 2015 at 10:17 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 24

I've recently been going back and forth on whether i should have a brooch bouquet or a floral bouquet. I was curious on everyone's thoughts on this? What is everyone doing for their wedding? Does anyone have a picture of themselves with a brooch buoquet? I'm incredibly indecisive!

I think brooch bouquets are beautiful, but on my budget I am doing very simple florals. With our casual feel I'm happy with a floral bouquet, as much as I love the vintage look of a nice brooch bouquet. Plus, they can be really heavy so I'm using that reasoning as well.

I, personally, do not like brooch bouquets. And they can be expensive. I did latex real tough Cala lilies for our flowers. They were about $1 per stem on eBay.

I have never even thought about a brooch bouquet, but I have a coworker who makes them and she keeps asking me. I've been feeling a little pressured because I don't want to upset anyone. She is retailing hers starting at about 150.

This was mine. I made it out of a lot of vintage clip on earrings I found on eBay, but the jaguar brooch on the front is my grandmother's.

So pretty! The one thing I do like about the Brooch bouquet is that I would been able to have it as a keepsake vs fresh flowers that will eventually wilt and die Smiley smile

I am doing a floral bouquet. I think the brooch bouquet can be a cute idea, but I'm a sucker for beautiful flowers.

I love flowers, personally, and a brooch bouquet is not going to be cheaper.

The ones I like the best are combinations, with mostly white flowers and silver/crystal brooches.

This is mine. It's a work in progress not finished yet. The brooches only attached, not glued or finalized yet I'm still waiting on about 18 more brooches I ordered from eBay.. I've been working on this brooch Bouquet for like three months now. Lol

Yes. I saw this size on Etsy for over $500, so far i've spent about $200 on supplies, including a foam ball, the blue silk roses, which covers the entire ball, the handle, plastic bouquet holder, the ribbon that will eventually go on the handle and about 80 brooches. I didn't expecte it to be so expensive initially, but I'm having fun doing it, and I feel it will make a great keepsake afterwards. I also feel it would've been less expensive had I Made it smaller, but I really like the size

My bouquet is silk flowers that are drop dead gorgeous. I ordered on Etsy. But here is a pic of my FSIL's bouquet that my FSMIL made for her. I think it is really beautiful. But it was heavy, not cheap and very time consuming to make!

I am personally not a fan of broach bouquets, but I can appreciate the sentimental significance of those that feature jewels from family members (especially those that have passed away). However, I love a traditional floral bouquet with photos or jewelry attached. This is most likely what I'll have when I walk down the aisle!

Mrs.AtoB -- the more of your DIYs I see, the more impressed I am with your natural talent. Your bouquet is beautiful -- excellent choices and beautiful design.

    Nice job, ladies.
