Fitting nightmare 😭

Marieke, on May 24, 2019 at 6:15 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Hi all!

I just had a horrible second fitting!

at my first fitting, she raised the hem around the dress which has about 6 layers total. After, she touches the sides of my waist and says “I’ll let it out here a bit” and pointed to a slight bunch around my waist. I didn’t even notice it until she pointed it out, but I trusted the professional. She marked the “let out” spots with a couple pins and told me she’d know that that means.

Well I bet you can guess what happened. When I got there today, I could barely get the dress around my hips and couldn’t zip it at all!!! Instead of letting it out, she TOOK IT IN. I was sooooooo mad. To make it worse, she didn’t admit the mistake, instead she had the audacity to say maybe I gained weight!! Even if I did, you don’t say that to a bride!! Much less, I have been struggling to lose weight.. I haven’t gained or lost a pound after months of working out and eating well.

Thank god my mom was there as my buffer because I was either going to kill the seamstress or cry.

My next fitting is the 6th. She said she can fix it. I’m very happy my mom is coming again because idk what I’ll do if it’s not fixed!

The wedding planning has been going so smoothly, naturally something had to go wrong, right? Ha!

Oh, that sounds like an absolute nightmare. I'm glad you had a supportive person there to handle it. Is she charging you additional for her mistake??

It’s going to be okay. I just had my final fitting and my breasts barely fit in the dress. They told me my breasts are too large and I should do arm workouts (arm pit fat). Then FMIL told me I can’t gain an ounce and I should work out like they said. She said this literally 6 times. It’s definitely disheartening to have your body put into perspective like that, plus the added stress of needing to fit in the dress. But you have your mom and the seamstress will fix it. Next fitting will go better for you hopefully.

I can SO relate!!! I'm so sorry you are having to go through this fitting misery. I've become ill, and my gown no longer fits. I feel, and understand, that stress of needing to fit into my gown. I'm sure yours will be perfect at your next fitting. Can't wait to see you in it. ❤

If she tries it’s not happening! She told me how much she charges at my first fitting. That is how much I will pay her, not a penny more.
