First look locations in Phila

Angie, on October 24, 2014 at 10:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hey ladies!

We will be getting married next October in Philly at Tendenza in Northern Liberties. Both me and my fiance will be getting ready at the hotel (Sheraton) in Old City.

We're meeting with a photographer we really like and hope to book on Sunday. I want to come prepared with ideas of photos that I want to take.

Any suggestions of places other than the art museum for pictures? Also- first look locations? I want the first look to be in an unique place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

I'm sure it's been done before, but what about Love Park?

There are some great spots along Delaware Avenue if you want something a bit more gritty. South Street can be fun, City Hall is great (or Broad Street with City Hall behind you). The Italian Market. Reading Terminal Market. Fairmount Park Horticulture Center. The Franklin Square Carousel. Have fun!

I'm getting married on the Moshulu, so we will probably do ours somewhere around there or on the ship, I haven't gotten that far in depth with my photographer yet. We are doing our e-pics at the waterworks where we actually got engaged. I have always loved the iconic pictures of brides on broad street with city hall in the background, but I imagine a first look would be hard, especially if you are having 2 photogs, and it's not very private if that's the feel you're going for. Like Holly said, Franklin Square is pretty cool too.

I got married in September at the College of Physicians (aka the Mutter Museum). My mom is a florist in the area and Tendeza is really pretty. I've been to weddings at Vie and the Cescaphe Ballroom. They definitely know what they are doing there!

We did our first look in the garden at the Mutter Museum but considered City Hall. Since you are in Northern Liberties I think it would be cool to do a first look in the Piazza. Its such an awesome space! Supposedly at Love Park and at Waterworks you actually need a permit to take pictures. If a park ranger comes up (and is an asshole) they can shoo you away. I'm sure your photog would know how to get the permits though.
