So I went for my first dress fitting and I think I feel pretty good about it?
It fit pretty well off the rack so I was picturing that not much needed doing, but the seamstress says she can make it better for me. We're putting red crinoline under the layers so it'll peek out at the bottom (at least I get a little of my red!) and she suggested adding more crystals on the bodice to make it more sparkly. She also examined the layers on the train and said they weren't cut evenly (thanks, David's Bridal!) but she pinned them and will be fixing it so that the layers all flow evenly while I'm walking.
She also told me not to waste money on a longline bra, just to bring a regular push up bra and she'll sew it in.
The best part, I think, is that I asked her if she could make some sleeves. I have fat upper arms but I love a casual dress I have from Torrid that has spaghetti straps and then lace partial sleeves like this: this so she is going to put matching lace sleeves and the straps on my dress. I can't quite picture it but I figure that if I like the style on a casual dress and it makes me feel good that I'll probably feel way better in my wedding dress.
I should have taken more pics today but I didn't ... here is the pic of me in the sample (I ordered ivory and not blush).
