First dj meeting!!

The best thing we asked all the DJs we interviewed was to send us a mix of their DJing-it made narrowing down a DJ so easy, as some were quite terrible.

heir work style: many DJs told us they would take care of us by getting us drinks. We wanted a DJ whose only focus was DJing. I didn't want DJs who danced on the dance floor with guests, and I wanted a DJ who didn't play games, so asked according questions.

Their equipment, particularly their sound equipment-make sure they have the best, it really makes a difference.

ask if they've worked at your venue before, and if they haven't if they're willing to scout the venue prior to your wedding date to see the layout for best setups, and electrical outlets. Good DJs will do this, and will insist upon this.

Good DJs will need 2 to 3 hours to setup their equipment, and any DJ who requires only 30 minutes to set up, will not have good equipment and sound issues will be a problem.

Questions I asked that sold me:

-What music will you play during dinner?
-What do you do if the dance floor dies?
-When are final song selections due?
-How many hours do I get with my package?
-What all does my package include?
-Will you be alone, or will you bring someone? (You’ll need this for food count)

and I would ask anything else you want to know about their style of DJing - although they should tell you this.
