First Dance Song?!

FH and I are using "Promise" By Kelly Coiffey. It's a song from Epcot at Disney World. They play it immediately after the fireworks every night. The artist is actually a country artist, but the song is NOT country.

This I Promise You has been our song for years. I know it's a boy band song but the words are really perfect and beautiful.

Well, I'm actually secretly changing it to Pride & Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I originally told FH no because it's pretty fast paced but, it is our song and we already know how to dance and spin to it!

He will be so surprised when we get out on the dance floor and DJ plays that song!

Our song is Everything by Michael Buble. My FH said that song always reminded him of me early in our relationship and that sort of became our song long ago

Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart. Who doesn't swoon I over some classic Mr. Stewart?

Down to two. Either I can love you like that or from this moment. The first one has two versions, country and not. Picking out a first Dance song has been tricky.

It's the only one that doesn't talk about leaving, or missed occasions or any of that nonsense. I'm big into dissecting the lyrics and finding the real meanings of songs. That made things very difficult when it came to choosing a song.

There are a ton to use, we thought about Fly Me To the Moon, but it was too fast and we don't have time for dance lessons.

Also, Michael Buble - Hold On or Lost are good ones.

Ingrid Michaelson has some good ones too. We're THINKING about using her version of Can't Help Falling In Love.

FSIL used Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up. They had dance lessons but it wasn't coreographed and it was really cute.

We're using NeYo's "Never Knew I Needed" from the Princess and the Frog. It was the movie we watched together on our first date.

We are probably going to do "Something" by the beetles.

If you want some more unusual ones (not country)-- ours is "Tonight" by JJ Heller. Her "Boat Song" is really cute too.

Last year one of my friends used "Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg, and I thought it was super adorable. That's probably going on our reception playlist.

FH found Maroon 5's cover of "The Way You Look Tonight" and really liked that it had a slightly more big band feel than the Sintra version. I like that it's both classic and modern so that's the top contender right now.

K'lyssa!!! I LOVE that song. Princess and the Frog was the first movie we watched as a family I have an older son who isn't FH's biological. I may have to suggest that one to him
