Firing a Vendor

Emma, on April 19, 2020 at 7:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
HELP!

I have signed a contract and given a vendor my deposit but I am having second thoughts and I want to go with someone else. This vendor would be my videographer. He post very inappropriate stuff on his professional social media accounts. And even made a recent post that he was going to give brides back their money and not give them any of their footage that he has already filmed. I want out but I don’t know how to go about it. I need advice!

Check your contract and see if the deposit is refundable or not. Likely you will lose your deposit but I would go ahead and cancel and book someone else regardless. Losing that deposit money sucks but it's better than having someone unprofessional on your wedding day.

I would most definitely feel better losing my money if need be and feel so much better finding a better more professional videographer- my thought, your wedding only happens one day and you will only have that one video! Ugh so stressful!!! Good luck!!! 🍀

Lose the deposit and tell him you no longer need his services.

You signed a contract and paid a, likely nonrefundable, deposit. There’s no getting your money back if that’s the case. You can lose the money and hire someone reliable or take your chances with this guy.

Do I have anything to stand on if he didn’t sign the contract?
