Fingerprint Guest Book Tree

Jessica, on April 19, 2011 at 10:07 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

I'm doing the fingerprint tree for my guest book, and I'm a little lost on what size to get. I've looked at several different sites, and they all suggest different sizes. I plan on having approx. 80 ppl. (including the wedding party) and have read that I should have anything from 10x12 to 16x24 for that amount of people. I feel the 10x12 is too small, but 16x24 is quite large. I was thinking maybe more like 14x18 or 16x20? Anyone have advice?

I think 14 X 18 should be perfect. I've never seen this done before. How unique, please let me know it goes over with your guests!

I did a 16x24 and it was perfect, it has to be big enough that peoples thumb prints dont look too big on the tree

We were going to do this as well. We went a different direction. My mommy is going to paint us a tree with no leaves, split canvas, and we are punching out leaves for people to sign. I was afraid that people would mess up or smudge their fingerprints. My family is a little special.

@Kelsey, that is BEAUTIFUL! How much did that cost you? Do you have a template for that?

It was just the cost of the large format printing. I put together the art myself Smiley smile

Just went to a wedding that had this idea and it was super cute until…people ran out of branches for fingerprints. Then it got confusing for the guests and they started putting prints anywhere, then it got sloppy. So, my one bit of advice would be, make sure that you have enough branches for all of your guests. Good luck! Smiley smile

I went to a wedding last month and they had one of those. There were 150 guests but only about 80-90 actually did the thumbprint. The tree they had was a 20 x 24 from thumbprintguestbooks.com It looked pretty full with that many thumbprints and signatures. :-) I am going to buy mine soon.

I'm doing this for our wedding, but I'm having trouble deciding on the wording for the guests to know what to do. Any ideas?

Wer are making a small sign to say "please 'leaf' your finger print and sign your name on our guest book tree"

I have several guestbooks to choose from and I will gladly do custom orders upon request with ample time.
