I have very nice nails. They are strong, will grow to a nice length and look pretty manicured. But I am worried about chipping one before the wedding or breaking one and having it shorter than the rest.

I was thinking of either pink and whites, but then a friend told me they are not good for your natural nails since they file the tops of them (?) and to go with Shellack.

Has any one done shellack? Am I even spelling that correctly?

What ever I do, it needs to hold up for at least a week before the wedding since its a DW.

SHOW ME YOUR PRETTY NAILS! or ideas!

TIA!

I didn't do anything on my fingernails. I never do so I thought it would look very unnatural on me. I was happy with my decision. I used Jamberry Silver Glitter wraps on my toes and they lasted the whole two weeks on my honeymoon after... in and out of ocean water and pools and all Smiley smile

I also have naturally strong nails. Of course, Tuesday before the wedding one frikken nail broke. I had one fake nail and did gel on them. DH is a fan of the simple french manicure so I wanted to make sure it lasted. I will probably do shellac for our anniversary trip

When I had shellac nails for four months straight they ruined my nails, but they looked great the first time! I think it's well worth it for your wedding. Especially if you're doing French. They will not chip at all until after the honeymoon. If you don't do the shellac wait until the very last minute to get a manicure. I'm still scared from my French manicure for my high school prom 6 years ago that chipped bad before I even put on my dress.

I have natural nails and will (and have been since engagementSmiley winking be using no-chip manicure (shellac). I will most likely do a french look w/sparkle similar to @MossWEdding with a even more bling accent ring finger. I have a pinterest board for fun/fancy nails Smiley smile

I use red carpet to do my own "gel" nails at home. I'll be going to have gels done at the salon for my wedding day.

So glad you posted this. I've never even heard of shellac. Yay, more stuff to worry about!

This is shellac that was done last Saturday (12 days ago) at a better salon. If you go to a salon that isn't as good it will peel. My nails still get mucked up because they do file them, so just know they be the same if you pull all the polish off until they grow out. Minimal polish covers it though. They're great because they don't chip! But they also don't like to put them super close to the nail bed so it's more obvious as they grow out. These are my natural nails, but they'll put fake tips on first if you want. Good luck!
