Finding a videographer to work with you...and our wedding video!

You guys, its so important to find vendors to work in your budget, but also that work with your style. We had a smaller budget to start, and really didn't care to hire a videographer (which is shocking since I work in the media production industry.) Late in the game we decided to try to find someone to work with our budget. IT NEVER HURTS TO ASK! We reached out to a few with our budget and asked if they could film our ceremony and maybe our photo session, details, etc. for a few hours. We ended up going with Lunic Visuals here in NE FL. They were awesome! They were with us for 2 hours total, and filmed the whole time! Our highlight video is really so special to us, because the ceremony is obviously the most important part of the day! The best part? They got the video to us 3 DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING! We were on our honeymoon in NYC crying in a little diner during breakfast watching the video! Best memory ever! If you guys are on a tight budget, it does not hurt at all to reach out to videographers or even photographers and asking them to make a custom package for you!

    i agree with you, i think it's ok to see if vendors will be able to work with your budget. i'm so frugal i tried negotiating everything but i felt like hey why not, it's worth a shot if i can try to save some money

    Yes I agree! These services are so expensive (as they should be because a lot of people are really talented) but I always admire a vendor who goes out of their way to try to help couples make their day special and work with them! I could not justify spending thousands on video and we just didn't have it!

    Daughter did something similar it terms of not looking for a videographer until last minute. It wasn't in the original budget, but she received an unexpected bonus about 5 weeks before the wedding and decided to go for it. We were just talking the other day and both agreed we are SO glad she did this! She used Thumbtack in order to find someone so last minute who could meet her limited budget. She ended up spending about $1500, but that was for two videographers for 7 hours, all raw footage, and a 7-8 minute highlight film. Vendors she talked with early in the planning process were closer to $4000 as a starting point. Your video is beautiful! Smiley heart

    This is so great! I love it! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you were able to find someone to work within your budget. And now you'll have this amazing video forever! Every time I watch a wedding video it makes me even more excited to eventually see mine after our big day.
