I’m sure some of you saw my post last week about how my photographer hasn’t given us our photos yet from our October 7, 2017 wedding.

Well, it took threatening to sue her but we finally got them back. And I’ve never been so disappointed.

First, we are missing crucial moments. She did not take a picture of our first kiss as husband and wife. Not one.

She also didn’t take pictures of us exchanging rings, and we only have one picture walking back down the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife. Which was taken from the side with peoples heads in the way, not from the front. (Even though I have pictures from guests phones that clearly show her walking backwards in front of us taking pictures.)

We only have one picture of the whole wedding party that’s not taken from off to the side, even though we took pictures for 2 hours after the ceremony. (“She lost track of time!” Our guests probably hated us.)

All of the pictures with our families (parents, grandparents, nephew/daughter, siblings, etc.) are taken from off to the side instead of straight on. (I know we were looking at her and posing, so idk why we only have pics from way off to the side. These pics likely came from the second photographer, but idk why she would give us those and not the forward facing ones from her camera.)

A ton of pictures my eyes are shut or half shut from blinking and we have tons of pictures just of the backs of people’s heads. And most of the pictures from our ceremony have people’s heads blocking us.

Im just so upset and pissed about this whole situation. We have contacted her about all of this and we have yet to hear back. I really just needed to vent.

I attached some pictures below as examples. Tell me I’m not crazy.

You have every right to vent. You paid her for a service and she has yet to deliver. I would be beyond pissed. Those pictures you provided are not up to par at all, and definitely do not look like the ones you spoke about taking with a primary photographer. HOPEFULLY she has more pictures lost somewhere that she can quickly find that she actually took, and those she attached are just the ones she can find right now. They look like they could have been done with a guest iPhone camera. If you don't get any back I would think you should pursue a full refund (which normally would be great, but I know you probably don't care about the money right now..you just want your pics!).

You look gorgeous!! I'll be praying for you that the pictures turn up. You deserve to have documentation of your day.

Oh my goodness, I'd be livid!!!

You're CLEARLY looking at another camera, why in the world would you only get ones that are from off to the side?

I like the one of you getting in the car, that's so cute, but I agree- the rest are odd and I don't understand why she'd give those to you instead of the straight on ones.

I'd still threaten to sue her. Even if the pictures you get back are unedited, you can probably find someone to edit them for a small fee.

Sorry this happened to you Smiley sad

Not only would I be pissed and threaten to sue I would let her know you will be posting the pictures you received to every review website available she had insurance for suing but putting those pictures out there for other potential customers to see will ruin her business. She either got mad and is being petty or lost her 1st camera shots and doesn’t want to tell you. Either way you should see results suing/placing the photos around

If you choose to go to court, I would hold off on posting the pictures on reviews. This could possibly prevent you from getting a refund.
I'm sorry you're going through this OP. This is absolutely inexcusable.

Awe hun! I am so sorry to hear about this. I think in the pictures you do have, you look fantastic. I would highly suggest you write your opinions into reviews about her so other brides don’t fall into a bad photographer.

If you didn’t get any puctures within the specified time period stated in the contract, then this certainly seems like an open and shut case for small claims court. I know your goal is most likely to get your proper pictures, not the money. However, you certainly have recourse.

I didn’t realize she was only 2 weeks past the due date. I’m not saying this is acceptable, but perhaps this holds out hope that you will get better pictures and that she’s just very bad at time management. What I’m hoping for you is that you get your great puctures back, and then sue her in small claims court since she violated the contract. I’m really hoping this all works out.

So sorry this happened to you! looks like second shooter images, seems like your positioned to the main photographer and the second shooter is the one delivering the images.

Maybe point that out. I'm sorry OP! You do look gorgeous and happy tho! Smiley heart

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm wondering if she actually just hasn't finished editing/going through her shots considering how long it took her to get the photos to you? Looks like these are the second shooter's shots, who was probably eager about this job and got everything to the main photographer right away? Just something else to think about instead of the worst case scenario of her losing/damaging the SD card.

Either way, you definitely deserve a refund for the hassle and heartache.

It looks like she was posing for the main photographer. The pictures she posted look like they're from a second shooter that works with the main photographer.

Oh... that is terrible! I thought the point of a second shooter was to capture moments elsewhere. What is the point of having a second shooter capture a picture where you are clearly posing for someone else? In my opinion these photographers proof to be inexperienced and sloppy. Is it so bad that you can sue... I'm not sure, but I completely understand wanting to. I would be upset too!

OP, you do look stunning! Congratulations!

I am so sorry that those are the pictures that she delivered for your wedding. I would be disappointed too. Please let us know what she says when she calls you.

For the couple people that asked: yes, we were posing for our main photographer, and the shots provided are from the second photographer. Why on Earth he would take the same picture that she was already taking off to the side instead of taking pictures of other guests or something baffles me, but...here we are. Not much I can do about it now.

Like I said before, we did reach out to her and express our concerns, to which she responded that she would call us Monday (today) morning. We have yet to hear back from her, but magaiclly this morning we woke up to some more pictures uploaded in our album. We did got the straight-on shots with our families and our first kiss/ring exchange shots, but there are still many I can think of that are missing.

So the pictures did not get deleted; she has them and was purposely withholding them. (I know this because she confirmed on Friday that we had the entire album, then magically more appeared when we said we weren’t happy.)

At this point I have no idea what to do. I guess I’m hopeful that even more pictures are coming that aren’t done yet, but we’ve been married for 5 and a half months. And we are now 3 weeks past our contract date. HOW can they still be not done?!

Ideally I would like at least some of our money back and all of the raw photos from that day, but I’m not sure if a case would still hold up in court since she technically is providing the pictures, they’re just late (and in my opinion still not up to the same quality as her other photos).

If they are late, she is breaching her contract. Open and shut case. I’d start taking screen shots of the number of photos in the album on certain days.

I definitely suspect that she lost the pictures, or the memory card or something. Did you ask her what happened?

It really looks like all of those photos were from the second shooter..

    BUT you look absolutely beautiful!

That's good that she has them and is uploading them, but why is she being so shady?? Hopefully she has contacted you by now to give you an update. But 5 months later..that's really frustrating!

Yep, this exactly. Keep a record of everything she uploads and when, all contact with her, etc. She's obviously being salty because you called her out and is withholding photos, which is completely unprofessional. And while being unprofessional isn't breaking the law, she did breach her contract. I think you could get all the raw images and potentially some money back in court.

Maybe she just isn't a good worker and when you threaten to sue she decided to be a jerk!

or she lost or corrupted the SD card and was too nervous to tell you so she kept putting it off.

I am soon sorry this happened to you!

ETA: I just saw your update above. I am not surprised. It seems like she has too much to handle and not able to get pictures done in a reasonable amount of time. I feel like you still have a case since it was past due and she did not give you photos up to her quality which is clear to see when compared to her other photos!

I'm a little confused - you said she was to deliver them within 90 days (which is 3 months) but said you are already married 5 1/2 months. If she promised the photos in 90 days from the wedding date, she is 2 1/2 months late, not 3 weeks. It doesn't matter if she's getting you pictures now, she still broke the contract. I'd wait until she sends more pictures (as she may withhold or destroy them) and then sue in small claims court. Make sure you have documentation as to when you received the pictures. Keep every email/text and document every phone call with date and time. Find out what the time limits are in your state to file a case.
