Finally got my pictures back...and i hate them.

I’m sure some of you saw my post last week about how my photographer hasn’t given us our photos yet from our October 7, 2017 wedding.

Well, it took threatening to sue her but we finally got them back. And I’ve never been so disappointed.

First, we are missing crucial moments. She did not take a picture of our first kiss as husband and wife. Not one.

She also didn’t take pictures of us exchanging rings, and we only have one picture walking back down the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife. Which was taken from the side with peoples heads in the way, not from the front. (Even though I have pictures from guests phones that clearly show her walking backwards in front of us taking pictures.)

We only have one picture of the whole wedding party that’s not taken from off to the side, even though we took pictures for 2 hours after the ceremony. (“She lost track of time!” Our guests probably hated us.)

All of the pictures with our families (parents, grandparents, nephew/daughter, siblings, etc.) are taken from off to the side instead of straight on. (I know we were looking at her and posing, so idk why we only have pics from way off to the side. These pics likely came from the second photographer, but idk why she would give us those and not the forward facing ones from her camera.)

A ton of pictures my eyes are shut or half shut from blinking and we have tons of pictures just of the backs of people’s heads. And most of the pictures from our ceremony have people’s heads blocking us.

Im just so upset and pissed about this whole situation. We have contacted her about all of this and we have yet to hear back. I really just needed to vent.

I attached some pictures below as examples. Tell me I’m not crazy.

    Wow! She did you dirty! She sent you the assistant photographer pictures. Look like those are alternate pics and not the ones she took, especially since you saw her position herself in front of you several times. Looks like she was trying to be spiteful.

    An alternative is to get bridal photos with a different photographer. Y’all put your wedding clothes back on and pose for new pictures. Maybe you can have someone dupe your bouquet in sola flowers. Sorry u had to go through this. 🙁 She will not prosper God don’t like ugly.

    UGH I'm so sorry !!! On a good note, you guys still look amazing !!! If it makes you feel any better, for my mom and dads wedding the film was completely ruined and corrupted and they only have photos that other people took. My mom says to this day they haven't even thought once about it ! Still super frustrating I would be extremely upset and even if something did happen to the main shooters pictures, own up to it. UGH sorry this is happening to you !

    Sounds like she's being petty. I'd ask for ALL the raw images she took, because it's clear she's choosing to not provide those. I'd threaten that she delivered WAY late on the contract, and you want all the images, not just her "picks", or possibly threaten to follow up with legal action because shes outside the contract time-frame regardless. I'm so sorry she's being like this, I can't imagine how frustrating this whole thing must be.

    That's really disappointing and annoying. The photos look like good quality too, just bad shots. I would flip if I were you.

    I’m so sorry this happened. Even if an accident happened, I feel like she should have communicated something with you and tried to at least give you some of your money back.

    Omg!! 😠 you’re not crazy. I would be soooo mad that I would not be able to see straight! Yes talk to someone to sue her. Those are lousy shots on the most memorable day of your life!

    It’s truly disappointing that such as special day for you and your husband wasn’t captured as you hoped.

    I had a similar experience and I am looking into doing a photo shoot on our 1 year anniversary wearing the our wedding attire and inviting our family to join in on the pictures.

    I'm so sorry you're so unhappy Smiley sad did you use a videographer? Maybe they could go back and look at capturing stills from the video to use as pics? Also I would totally go back to your photographer and read the contract and see what could be done. Hope you get the pics you want!!

    You are not crazy. These pics are very amateur. Sorry you are having this experience. Thanks for sharing though, I immediately changed my mind from who I was thinking of going with when I read this.

    You need to let her know ASAP how unhappy you are! Especially considering you know she did not take all the images from the side. That is photography 101, people want pictures looking into the camera of them with their families on their wedding day. Good Lord, this is bad !

    Did your contract specify a time limit when your pictures were to be delivered?

    I dont think she sent you these shots out of spite. I agree with others that it seems like something happened to the shots she took and rather than be honest and return your money, she was stalling (for what I do not know). What I don’t understand is, these are crappy shots that even s second shooter shouldn’t have taken. A second shooter is usually hired for bigger weddings so they can get other shots while the principal photographer was busy shooting elsewhere, there we be no point taking the shots you got.

    The problem is is it might cost you more in legal fees to sue than what the photographer charged, which she probably knows.

    This sucks but please don’t let this dampen your memories of your special day. The best recourse you have is to post honest reviews every where you can. She really did you wrong and I am so sorry.

    Thank you everyone for your support. It definitely feels good to know that DH and I are not alone in thinking this is unacceptable. We have reached out to her, to which she responded that she is away for the holiday and would call us tomorrow. So we will see what happens.

    To answer your question firstone, our contract stated that we would have our pictures within 90 business days from our wedding, which would’ve been February 20th. We received our pictures on March 13th.
