Fh’s idea of your wedding gown?

My FH is so good at reading me, and at guessing, he doesn't even want to discuss it. He's afraid he'll guess exactly right, and then my face won't be able to hide it, and the surprise will be spoiled.

He's actually already guessed it and doesn't know it. Before I had my appointment at David's Bridal, I went online and selected some dresses as "favorites" so that when I went shopping, I could have the stylist pull those to try on. Well, FH saw some of the ones I was favoriting on the website. The dress I ended up falling in love with was one of those "favorites." Before I left for the appointment, he goes "I really like that strapless one with the flowy skirt." LOL that's the one I got!!!!! So, without even trying, I ended up buying the one FH liked best. I can't wait for him to see it!!! I wonder if he'll remember that was the one he liked.

They have no idea! It's so funny watching them try to come up with words for the styles.

My FH was all on board for large ballgown fully bedazzled. Haha

I asked mine and he was fairly spot on.
He said it’ll have straps because he knows I hate strapless - correct
He said he can picture it having lace, but not the whole thing lace, and a little bit of sparkle - correct again except it’s all lace.
He said he can’t picture me in too full of a dress or one with too long of a train because he knows how clumsy I am and how likely I’ll be to trip over it - correct even down to the reasoning.
I guess he knows me pretty well lol.

I asked my FH this a few months ago, it’s so funny! I already told him my dress was white, but that’s ALL he knows about it. He guessed:

Form-fitting sheath style
Satin
Thin straps

If you’ve seen Friends, I think he is basically imagining Monica’s wedding dress because that’s what he described (including a pic of that too) 😂

Annnnd here is my actual dress... (lighting is a bit weird in my mom’s bathroom, but it is white white.) Boy is he in for a surprise!

I don’t know if I gave him the opportunity to guess. I just told him it was a long sleeved, turtleneck gown 🤣. We had a running joke that every time someone mentioned the dress, we’d add in a crazy detail (like “oh you did tell him about the tie dyed flowers on the shoulders, right?!” kind of thing). He never otherwise ventured a guess.

I just asked mine and he said definitely strapless with a v in the back that’s kinda low (not sure what made him think of that detail lol) and it’s non-poofy. Here’s the dress lol besides the strapless he did alright

My FH guessed a ballgown with a lot of sparkles. Mine is sparkly but an A-line with a of lace and sparkly tulle underneath the lace. He has watched say yes to the dress with me and has told me, he doesn't like lace so he's in for a surprise lol!

Same with me! My FH and I are always on the same page about everything so both of us refuse to discuss it because we are both afraid he will guess exactly right and I won't be able to lie to hide it lol

Well, to be fair- I told my FH that I don’t like ball gowns or bedazzling and he requested that the whole thing not be lace (i’m OBSESSED with lace, half of my wardrobe has some type of lace. I’m actually wearing lace right now lol) and I actually didn’t like strapless either so what he said was exactly what I had in mind originally. (I also know that he loves the ballgown look even though I didn’t so he will be happily surprised)
this is one dress I was thinking of before saying yes to mine

I asked my FH this recently! His answers:

Color? White

Straps? Strapless? Strapless

Shape? Mermaid

Satin or lace? Satin

My dress is all of those things, haha! It is funny too because before I found my dress, I wanted lace and that is what I told him, yet somehow he still guessed right!

My mom does the same thing to FH! She'll say something about it being red or a mini-skirt or something.

I've asked FH a few times and he just kinda shrugs and says he has no idea. To be fair, he (just like most guys, I'm assuming) doesn't know all of the different necklines and silhouettes and fabrics, etc. I should prompt him with some specific questions to see what he comes up with.

Oh gosh! I'm too scared to even ask. I want it to be a surprise to him! I'd be worried that he will say something drastically different and I'll trick myself into thinking my dress isn't good enough lol.

He knows that I ordered three different dresses all new with tags on Poshmark. He knows the first two were from David's Bridal.I have not told him the designer of the third and final dress I went with.

I've been very open with how casual our wedding is gonna be. I think he'll be surprised to see me in a pretty beaded sheath!

My fiance and I were talking about my dress a few weeks ago. The only think he has guessed is the color. He said it will be white because I don't like off whites which is true and when I went dress shopping I kept telling everyone I wanted a white dress not ivory, cream, off white, or anything else. However, my dress is actually ivory, but it looks white. The white one of my dress was blindingly white that I didn't like it so I went with ivory.

Mine definitely knew I would not be in a ballgown. Outside of that, I don't think he had any idea. "White-ish, not pink" was his guess on the color. He knows I'm not a fan of silver/bling/beading so he got that right, but he definitely thought I would go with satin, tulle, something NOT LACE. When he thinks lace, he thinks old, grandma lace. He also didn't think I'd do a veil and didn't think I would have straps on my dress. Ha!

I asked mine he just said he loves my hips and white .. which made me think.. does he want me in a puffy wide ballroom dress to make them look bigger then my waist.. or a tight curve hugging dress....... So i went dress shopping sent him pictures of every thing i could try on , different styles of dresses, asked him if he liked any of them.. he said THEY ALL LOOK NICE....... big help... so i went and got the one i liked the most and told him it will just be a surprise on our wedding day what one i picked... IF ANY ( trying to throw him a curve ball) that i showed him...... last week i peeked in his phone and in his Screenshots was 1 picture of me in a dress....... which so happens to be the 1 dress i bought. A line with a little puff in the hips... at least i know he wont hate it because he saved it.... because that's like my worst fear is i don't look as pretty as he might imagined and don't like my dress.

When I asked FH what he imagined my wedding dress as he said
Shape: Ballgown with some sort of train. Wrong it's an A-line
Length- long sweeping gown. Like the princess you are.
Yeah, it's a tea length dress
Straps, sleeve or sleeveless: straps. Nope- it has cap sleeves that I'm thinking of removing (because they limit my movement) and making it sleeveless.
Details- simply. Not a lot of lace of glitter or whatnot.
Oops! My dress has lace and sparkle and tiny pearl details.
I didn't ask about color since he knows it's ivory.

We don’t talk about my dress, my fiancé wants to keep it an honest surprise. He was with me when I picked it up the other day though. When I put it in the car he asked, “How big is this dress?! It’s huge!” I said my new fiancé was in the bag too lol

I tell my FH every time he annoys me I’m that much closer to buying a white velor tracksuit with Bride written on the booty. 🤣

I actually got a dress based on what he said he would like on me. I mean not everything is catered to him but he said he wanted

Which is pretty much the dress I fell in love with. Though I really thought I'd hate it (Looked totally different on the hanger!)
