FH wants a top hat.....and a cane....

My DH and his GM wanted these fidora/Justin Timberlake hats, and sunglasses. I said as long as you guys refrain from wearing them during the ceremony, then I'm cool with it.

If my FH asked for that I would tell him to play dress up some other day. I think it would look ridiculous.

He's only wearing slacks, a vest, dress shirt and tie-. He's not wearing a jacket. Do you think it would still look okay?

Tell him that if he wants the top hat & cane, he has to go full-on formal -- that may get him to change his mind.

Compromise with him and say he can have it but for the reception only. Not the ceremony.

FH keeps saying he wants that too! I can't tell if he's joking or not...

Tell him exactly that: it may look funny for ceremony but good for photos. It can look good if done correctly.

I think that could look awesome, it just has to be done right!! If he insists on having it for ceremony, think about it this way: he could give his best man his cane the same way you give your MOH your bouquet. You have a veil, he has a hat. I could see it working! If that makes you feel any better

Mine wanted to wear a kilt, so I'm letting him! I'd let him have his hat and cane. If you're in a church though, he may not want to wear the hat the whole time?

FH and I had a bridezilla/groomzilla show down over him wanting to dress like the joker and his boys "the henchmen". We settled on a grey suit for FH and black for the guys.
