fh tux jacket?? Help!

Alexis, on October 25, 2019 at 10:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
FH originally got a white dinner jacket white black lapels, but we thought it would look weird with my dress because it was champagne and the jacket is pure white. Now I’ve switched my dress to ivory, and I’m wondering if the white will look okay? Has anybody done this? I was thinking either a burgundy or dusty rose jacket, because those are our colors. We’re just having trouble finding a burgundy jacket. BM’s are wearing burgundy and he doesn’t want to do black because that’s what his groomsmen are wearing. Ive attached pictures of the two options we’ve found and my dress, but it’s proven to be difficult to find a burgundy that’s matches our burgundy.

White next to ivory tends to make the ivory look dirty, old or yellow so I would be very hesitant to have him wear white if you are in invory. My husband worn the same jacket as the groomsmen, but he worn a different tie and vest in order to stand out.

My FH will be wearing the same jacket as the groomsmen but an ivory vest and a different colored tie. Groomsmen will be wearing black vests, gray tuxes. I would also be hesitant about him wearing white if you are in ivory.

I would definitely not have him wear a white tux. Your pretty ivory dress will look dirty. 😞 Black tux or the rose one.

I would do the Ivory Dawson, actually -- if you can get your hands on it.

I had an Ivory Dress and my Husband did the Ivory Dawson (pictured below).

His groomsmen were in the Black Chandler Tux's. Basically the black version of his.

Might be easier on you two than finding another color all together. I agree with PP, it will make your dress look dirty, sadly. I had a long discussion with my Husband about how it'd look against my dress because he originally wanted a white tux, too. He still got to keep his color, but we switched it up to ivory in order not to have him stand out like a sore thumb against my dress.

I actually really like the dusty rose one. And he’ll stand out.

I agree with Megan, I actually really like the dusty rose color! I think it’ll tie in your colors and be a nice contrast against the bridal party.

Why don’t you try a Gray or Charcoal color.. I wouldn’t do white, and the second picture the color might clash with the bridal party..

Personally, and not everyone is like this, but I am SUPER anal about white matching white... And ivory just wouldn't match, unfortunately. I wouldn't be able to not see that in the pictures. However, the Dusty Rose color would look great, and match really well with ivory, I'd say. The undershirt probably shouldn't be pure white, as best as possible, but the jacket would be such a compliment to your dress.
